Bye 2019, Hello 2020- New Years Glitter Gradient Nail Design

Hello everyone! Happy almost New Year 2020! I can't believe that I am saying that! Time has just been going so fast, it just seem like it was just the beginning of 2019 not to long ago. I do say that 2019 was not to bad, in the middle of the year I got a new full time job that I have been at now for three months and I do still like, and along with get that new job it helped me to be able to get a new car that I unfortunately needed (yes I got the same car a VW Beetle, just a newer version, I had a 2005 Beetle for 14 years and I loved that car.) Anyways today we will be creating a basic glitter gradient nail design that is great for new years.   

 

Happy New Year's Nail Design 

All you need for this simple glitter gradient nail design:

  

Base and top coat- CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Polishes- Sally Hansen- Hard as Nails- Black Heart, Fun Lacquer- Million Dollar Dream and Revlon- Gold Coin (your base color under the glitter.)

Other- a makeup sponge for your glitter gradient. 

 

 

 Happy New Year's Nail Design 

Apply Base coat, let that dry.

Polish nails-

Thumb, index, middle, and pinky nail- a black creme polish.

Ring finger nail- a gold polish (Revlon- Gold Coin) and a gold holographic glitter polish, the same one that you will use for the gradient on all the other nails (Fun Lacquer- Million Dollar Dream.)

Let dry.

For the gradient on the tip of the nails, first just polish a light coat of your gold holo glitter polish, starting from the tip of the nails and just slightly going up the nail. 

Then take your makeup sponge and polish that same glitter on the sponge, this soaks up most of the clear base making more of the glitter stick to the nail. 

Then dab the sponge mainly at the tip of the nail, making sure that their is not that much glitter going up the nail, that is starts to almost fade.  

Also I did go over a few spots with the brush that may have needed just a little more glitter.

That's all you need to create this beautiful glitter gradient nail design, that with the gold holo glitter and black are perfect for New Years, or any time of the year all you have to do is just change up the colors that you use.

Once your nails are new years ready, apply a top coat to seal in your design and to help it last through all of your parties and midnight or just saying at home to watch the ball drop, (that is what my hubby and I will be doing and eating pizza.)

A Day At The Beach- Summer Beach Nail Design

Hello everyone! Sorry that I have not posted anything in a few weeks, I have just have had a lot of things coming up. Anyways this design I did a few weeks ago on my nails and now I am just now getting around to showing all of you. We will be creating a beach summer themed nail design, even though summer is sadly and way to quickly coming to an end. My favorite part of summer has always been just spending a relaxing day in the water at the beach, so what better way to celebrate the closing of summer then with a beach themed design. I mean after all even if summer might be ending their is still most likely still going to be some summer like weather for a little while longer, unless you live somewhere where it is warm year round.

  

Summer Beach Nail Design

Here are the polishes and tools used to create this beach nail design:  

 

Base and Top coat- CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Nail polishes- Finger paints- Tiffany imposter, China glaze- Shades of Paradise- Mer-Made For Bluer Waters, and Revlon- Gold Coin.

Nail art brushes- thin detail and liner brush, and thin stripper brush.

Other- Makeup sponge, and a small jar/ cup of water to clean off your nail art brushes.

 

 Summer Beach Nail Design

On clean nails apply a thin layer of base coat, then let that dry.

Then polish your thumb and pinky nail with a shimmery ocean blue (I used China Glaze- Mer-Made For Bluer Waters), your index and middle finger with a gold polish (I used Revlon- Gold Coin) and then polish your ring finger nail with a light blue (I used Finger paints- Tiffany imposter.) 

Let that dry as well.

 

 

 Summer Beach Nail Design

Flip Flop on the index and middle nail, gold polish background:

  

We will start off with the flip flops on the index and middle finger nail. Take your thin liner brush with white or what ever colored paint you would like, and near the cuticle make a circle and then an oval that is attach to that to make the flip flop shape, then fill that in. 

For this you can make stripes of just leave it a sold color, for the design I did I decided to add stripes. For the stripes take a thin stripper brush with a light colored blue or once again what ever color you would like, then leave some white at the top for a white stripe, and then make a line under that for a blue stripe and then another under that, then fill that in with the light blue to make a thicker stripe. Repeat this step done the flip flop, I did this three times. 

Once you have your stripes we will add some of the bottom of the flip flop showing on the side. First take your stripping brush with black paint on it and outline the whole flip flop, then on one side make that part much thicker, to kind of show the bottom of the flip flop showing from the side.

Lastly we will add the strap that hold your foot into your flip flops. Once again take your thin stripper brush with black paint on it and make a V shape in the middle of your flip flop, you will need to go over this a few time to make it a little bit thicker.

Beach ball in the water on the ring finger nail:

Once you have your flip flops done, on to the beach ball in the water. First we will make the small waves in the water. Take some white paint and make it runny by adding water to it. Then take a makeup sponge and lightly dab it into the paint, then lightly dab it on to the nail to give a small wave effect.  

On to the beach ball, take your detail brush with white paint on it and make a circle near the tip of your nail. Then make three triangle shapes on the white circle; in red, yellow and blue. Then make a small white circle in the middle of the ball.

Leopard Nail Design

Hello everyone! Today I decided that I wanted to create another leopard print nail design. A few years ago I created a blue and silver leopard design on this blog, but this time I wanted to have a more realistic color palette, plus is seems like in fashion leopard print has become popular, so this would be great to have on your nails with your favorite leopard print outfit.

This design is very simple to create and great for beginners, the only nail art tool you need is a dotting tool. 

 

Leopard Print Nail Design

Here at the polishes and nail art tools that you will need for this leopard design:

 

Base an top coat - CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Polishes- Left hand; OPI Hawaii- Do you take Lei Away and Cirque- Madder.

Right hand; Revlon- Gold Coin, Zoya- Renee- Redbook trio, and Nicole by OPI- That's Just Plain Nuts!  (for the brown spots)

Acrylic paint- Black and brown- hot cocoa.

Nail art tools- large dotting tool (that is all!) 

  Leopard Print Nail Design

As always start off with clean dry nails and apply a thin layer of base coat, then let that dry.

For this design I used two different types of polish on each hand. I always like to have two different polish colors on each hand, to make it more fun! As always you can just go with one or the other for your color choice as well. 

On your left hand polish your thumb, middle and ring finger with a nude/ tan polish (I used  OPI- Do you take Lei Away) and then your index and pinky nail, polish those nails with a red holographic polish ( I used Cirque- Madder.)

On your right hand polish your thumb, middle, and ring finger with a gold polish (I used
Revlon- Gold Coin) and then your index and pinky nail, polish those with a red creme polish (I used Zoya- Renee.) 

Let your base polishes dry.

Now on to the leopard print, which will go on the tan/ gold nails. For the leopard print only put a few of the larger prints, try not to make to many and make sure to leave some of the tan/ gold showing, other wise the nails might look to cluttered.

Take your dotting tool and dip it into your brown paint, for your left hand and then for your right hand use a darker brown polish. On each nail make different random shaped dots to start your leopard print.

For both hands take that same clean dotting tool with black paint on it, and on each large dot make a curved shape on some of the sides, on some of the dots I put two and some I put three curved shapes.

Then to finish off your leopard print make some small black dots in the blank areas, also make sure to only make a few.

That is all that is to it for this leopard design.

Glittery Fall- Fall Tree Nail Design

Hello everyone! Today we have one more fall nail design, this design I felt like it would be a nice way to transition into winter. I have stated in other blog that I don't care for fall nail designs or fall polish colors, so for this design the leaves will be glittery and not like normal fall designs. As all of my nail designs I get inspiration from Pinterest and make it my own, I saw a glitter fall nail design like this one and thought that was a cool way of doing a fall design without the boring colors, like browns and neutrals.  

 

Fall Tree Nail Design

Here are the polishes and nail art tools used to make this glittery fall nail design:   

 

Base and top coat- CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Polishes- Julep- Hazel- Boho glam, Revlon- Gold Coin, Fun Lacquer- Million Dollar Dream, Color Club- Mini- Silver Glitter, Color Club- Mini- Green glitter, and Cover Girl- Boundless color- Disco dazzle. 

Nail art tools- thin detail brush and a thin stripper brush.

Small glass jar with acetone in it to clean off nail art brushes.

       Fall Tree Nail Design

Start off with a thin layer of base coat to protect your nails and to help your design to last, then let that dry.

Then polish all of you nails with a shimmery purple polish, once again let that dry.

 

 

Fall Tree Nail Design

Now on to the design, for this design you can put the trees on all of your nails or just a few of the nails, for the photos above I put the tree design on all of the nails. 

First we will start off with the tree trunk, take a thin stripper brush with gold polish on it and make two curved lines on each side of the nail to make the shape of the tree trunk, then in the middle of those lines start to make some random lines going different directions for the branches, also on the tree trunk make sure to fill that in with gold polish as well.   

Once you have finished that part take a few different glitter polishes (I used a gold, sliver and green) and kind of blob them on to the nail on the tree branches. I used a nail art brush to blob the leaves on, you can also just use the brush that is in the bottle.

Then once you have your fall glittery trees the way you like apply a top coat to seal in your nail design and to help it to last.

Want an even simpler design? You can just put the tree designs on a few nails, on my other hand I only did the design on my thumb and ring finger and then the other nails I used a purple holographic glitter from Zoya called Finley.

Purple Gradient and Chevron Nail Design

Hello everyone! Today we will be creating a simple gradient chevron nail design with purple polishes. For this nail design you can use what ever colors you would like, I just decided to go with purples and a gold background. 

 

Gradient and chevron Nail Design 

Here are the polishes and tools used for this gradient and chevron nail design:

  

Base and top coat- CND Stickey Base Coat and  Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Polishes- Revlon- Gold Coin, OPI Hawaii- Lost my Bikini in Molokini, Zoya Sunshine- Delia, and  China glaze- Shades of Paradise- Board. Optional- Revlon- Holographic Pearls- Transforming Effects.

Nail art supplies- A thin stripper brush if needed for detail work/ clean up the lines, and stripping tape. 

Other- (not shown) small glass dappen dish with acetone in it to clean off nail art brush, tweezers to take stripping tape off of the nails. 

Let start this nail design!

 Purple Gradient and Chevron Nail Design 

Start off with a thin layer of base coat, and let that dry.

For this design you can do the chevron/ gradient on all of your nails or just a few, I decided to do the design on three nails; the thumb, middle and ring finger nails, and keep the index and pinky fingers a solid color.

Once your base coat has dried, polish all of the nails that you are going to do the design on with a gold polish, this is your base color/ gold stripes. 

If you are following the way I have done this design then polish your thumb, middle and ring finger nail gold, then polish your index nail with a dark purple (I used OPI Hawaii- Lost my Bikini in Molokini), and then polish your pinky finger nail with a light purple (I used Zoya Sunshine- Delia.)

Once your base colors are pretty much fully dry, we can start the chevron/ gradient design. With the gradient you are suppose to go from lightest to darkest color (or the other way around) but I didn't follow what I just said on the middle and ring finger nail, I did follow what I said on the thumb nail.

For this design take a piece of stripping tape and cut it in to two pieces, place it on the nail one at a time in a triangle shape. Depending on how long your nail is will determine how many triangle shapes you can do, on my thumb I did three triangles of stripping tape, and then on the middle and ring finger nail, I did two.

Once you have your stripping tape placed, open all of your bottles of polish that way you can get to them easily. Staring near the cuticle polish a light purple or dark, depending on if you are following my color pattern or not, then polish a medium purple or light purple, then right away peel of the tape that you put on that area with tweezers.

* Do not let the polish dry on these two steps, doing this helps to make the lines look cleaner.*

Then for the last color, polish near the tip of the nail dark purple or medium purple and then once again with tweezers take off the stripping tape.

Also if need you can clean up your gold lines with a stripping brush dipped into that same polish. I needed to do this for the medium colored polish, China glaze- Boujee Board because of it being a matte it was acting kind of weird and when I pulled up the tape the polish wanted to come with it a little bit, so I had to go over the gold lines again with a stripping brush to make them look straight.

As an optional touch I applied a holographic topcoat to this design, but you can always leave it as is. I actually wish when I first did this design that I would have not applied the holo top coat to the chevron/ gradient part, and just applied it to the nails that had not design on it, but as the week went on and I had this on my nails it didn't look to bad and I started to like it. 

Anyways once you have finished your design apply a clear top coat to seal in your design and to help it it last.

Let it Snow or Not- Snowflake Winter Nail Design

Hello everyone! Hope everyone is having a good winter, or a least trying to get through it. If you live in a cold environment or really anywhere it has been a cold winter for everyone, even the people that live in a normally warmer environment. Anyways this week we will be creating a let is snow nail design even if we are all tired of the snow, I know I am. But for some reason I still wanted to create a snow themed nail design.

 Snowflake Nail Design

Here are the nail polishes and nail art tools used for this nail design: 

Base and top coat- - CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Nail polish-  Zoya Enchanted- Saint, JulieG- Blueberry Fizz- texture, and Revlon Holographic Pearls (for some reason I didn't take a photo of this polish, so I garbed a photo from online.) 

Acrylic paint- white 

Nail art tools- medium and small dotting tool, detail brush, thin striping brush, and a small detail brush. 

Other- glass or cup of water to clean off nail art brushes.

Let's start this snow filled nail design!

As always start off with a thin layer of base coat.

Let the base coat dry and then on your index and pinky finger nail, polish that with a periwinkle blue polish (I used Zoya- Saint), then on your thumb, middle and ring finger nail polish that with a glittery or textured periwinkle blue polish (I used  JulieG- Blueberry Fizz this is a textured polish). 

On my right hand I polished the thumb and ring finger with JulieG- Blueberry Fizz and the index, middle, and pinky with Zoya- Saint.

Then for an added touch, I just had to add some holo to this design. Take a holographic top coat (I used Revlon Holographic Pearls) one that has a little bit of holo in it, and apply that to all of the nails over both of the polishes.

Then let your base colors dry, and now on the snowflakes.This design like most of the designs I do, it is just random patterns/ lines that are put together, their is no set way of doing this design. 

All of the snowflakes should start off with a star like pattern, then add some arrow like lines on each line, you can have a lot of lines, one, or just a few.

On the thumb, the snowflake that is on the lower right hand corner I added some triangle shapes in the center of the snowflake.  

Then on all of the nails with a dotting tool, you can make some small dots for some small snowflakes.

To be extra random on the pinky finger nail on the left hand, I added some swirls on the side of the nail.

Then on the right hand on the ring finger nail, I took a stripping brush and made some line lines that looked kind of like icicles, with two small star shapes for snowflakes.

Once you have your snowflakes the way you like apply a top coat to protect your nails from the cold and snowy weather, or really just from chipping to soon.
