Leopard Nail Design

Hello everyone! Today I decided that I wanted to create another leopard print nail design. A few years ago I created a blue and silver leopard design on this blog, but this time I wanted to have a more realistic color palette, plus is seems like in fashion leopard print has become popular, so this would be great to have on your nails with your favorite leopard print outfit.

This design is very simple to create and great for beginners, the only nail art tool you need is a dotting tool. 

 

Leopard Print Nail Design

Here at the polishes and nail art tools that you will need for this leopard design:

 

Base an top coat - CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Polishes- Left hand; OPI Hawaii- Do you take Lei Away and Cirque- Madder.

Right hand; Revlon- Gold Coin, Zoya- Renee- Redbook trio, and Nicole by OPI- That's Just Plain Nuts!  (for the brown spots)

Acrylic paint- Black and brown- hot cocoa.

Nail art tools- large dotting tool (that is all!)

As always start off with clean dry nails and apply a thin layer of base coat, then let that dry.

For this design I used two different types of polish on each hand. I always like to have two different polish colors on each hand, to make it more fun! As always you can just go with one or the other for your color choice as well. 

On your left hand polish your thumb, middle and ring finger with a nude/ tan polish (I used  OPI- Do you take Lei Away) and then your index and pinky nail, polish those nails with a red holographic polish ( I used Cirque- Madder.)

On your right hand polish your thumb, middle, and ring finger with a gold polish (I used
Revlon- Gold Coin) and then your index and pinky nail, polish those with a red creme polish (I used Zoya- Renee.) 

Let your base polishes dry.

Now on to the leopard print, which will go on the tan/ gold nails. For the leopard print only put a few of the larger prints, try not to make to many and make sure to leave some of the tan/ gold showing, other wise the nails might look to cluttered.

Take your dotting tool and dip it into your brown paint, for your left hand and then for your right hand use a darker brown polish. On each nail make different random shaped dots to start your leopard print.

For both hands take that same clean dotting tool with black paint on it, and on each large dot make a curved shape on some of the sides, on some of the dots I put two and some I put three curved shapes.

Then to finish off your leopard print make some small black dots in the blank areas, also make sure to only make a few.

That is all that is to it for this leopard design.

Happy 90th Birthday Mickey Mouse- Mickey Mouse Nail Design

Hello everyone! Today we will be creating a Mickey Mouse nail design to celebrate the mouse's big birthday, his 90th birthday! I have been hearing pretty much all year that it's Mickey Mouse's 90th Birthday, but I was unsure when it was because I actually planned to do this design a few months ago. I looked it up and his birthday is November 18, so the timing for this design ended up working out.

Here are the polishes and nail art tools use for this design:

 

Base and top coat - CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat

Polishes- Sally Hansen- xtreme wear-Celeb city, Zoya- Renee, Color Club- Daisy Does it, NYC- Broadway Burgundy Frost, OPI Hawaii- Do you take Lei away, and Sally Hansen- Hard as Nails- Black Heart.

Acrylic paint- black and white.

Nail art brushes- large dotting tool, thin detail and liner brush, and a very small detail brush.

Small cup or jar with water in it to clean off your nail art brushes. 

I don't know about all of you but Mickey looks pretty good for 90 years old! Let's celebrate his big day with this Mickey Mouse nail design!

Start off with a thin layer of base coat, then let that dry.

Once that has dried we will polish our base colors. Polish your thumb nail with a silver polish, your index with a red creme polish, the middle and pinky finger nail with a glittery yellow, and then your ring finger nail with a glittery red polish. 

Then let that dry.

Now we will make Mickey's body on the index nail. First take a black polish and polish near the top part of the nail near the cuticle, going to about the middle of the nail, making sure that the other half is red for his pants.

Then make two thin lines on the red part for his two buttons on his pants.

Next we will be creating the Mickey shape on the middle and the ring finger nail. On the middle finger nail use a black paint and on the ring finger nail use a white paint. First make a large circle for his head and then make to smaller ones on top of the larger circle, for his ears.

Now on to the pinky finger nail with a lot of Mickey Mouse shapes on it. Take your large doting tool with black paint or polish, dot one dot for his head and then two smaller dots on the top of that dot for his ears, you can repeat this step as may times as you would like.

Last but far from least is the star of this design Mickey Mouse himself. For Mickey I first put down a very thin layer of white paint to just get the outline of Mickey. First make kind of a heart shape at the top for his head and then make to half circles on the sides for his checks. Then once the white outline is dry go over that with a peach/tan colored polish a few time to be opaque. 

Then on to his ears and the side of his face. For the side of his face just follow the outline of the top of his head, but just make this part very thick. Then make to circles on top of this head for his ears.  

Lastly is Mickey's face. We will first make his eyes, take a thin detail brush with white paint on it and make two long ovals right next to each other, then fill them in with the white. Once that is dry make two smaller black ovals in the white oval for his pupils.

For his nose, first make a large arch right under his eyes, then under that arch make a oval for his nose and fill that in with black. 

Now to complete Mickey we need to make his smile, take your very small detail brush with black paint on it make a large curved line, then two small curved lines at the end of each of the larger curved line.

Once you have your Mickey Mouse design the way you like apply a top coat to seal in your design and to help it last.

Here is the other design that I did on my right hand a more simple version, with just the Mickey shapes on the thumb and ring finger nail, this is the same design that I did on my pinky finger nail. 

Mickey Mouse has always been my favorite ever since I was little, so it is always fun to make any Disney themed nail design.

Sunset in Paradise- Tropical Nail Design

Hello everyone! Once again we will creating a tropical nail design, if you have been checking out the M.M.M blog for a while now, then you know that summer time is my favorite season and I love to create tropical designs in summer. I don't know about all of you but I feel like especially this summer has been going way to fast, I feel like it was just memorial day (the start of summer) and now it's mid summer. Before summer is over with I do have a few more topical design that I want to create before summer has sadly ended.

Here are the nail polishes, paints, and nail art tools used for this tropical design:

  

Base and Top coat - CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Nail polishes- Essie- Coconut Cove (your base color that goes under your tropical design), OPI Hawaii- Lost my Bikini in Molokini, Sally Hansen- Hard as Nails- Black Heart (for the tips of your nails.)

Acrylic paint- black, white, red, yellow, and blue.

Nail art brushes- Flat large brush, fan brush and stripper brush.

Small jar or cup of water to clean off our nail art brushes.

Tropical sunset nail design  

Before I start this post I just want to say that this design is very similar to the Fiery sunset design that I created a few weeks ago, so I will be taking a lot of the wording from that post and putting it into this one. Of course some of the different is this one is on two nails, a darker sunset and just palm trees, but for the most part this has the same concept, Anyways.

As always start off with a thin layer of base coat, and then let that dry.

Once your base coat has dried polish your index, middle, and pinky finger nail with a purple polish (I used OPI- Lost my Bikini in Molokini), these will stay as is with no nail art on them. 

Then polish your thumb and ring finger nail with a white/ or off white polish, this is where will be creating our nail design. I only applied one coat of the white polish, this will act as your base (will not show at all on the nails) because the whole tropical design is done with acrylic paint and the paint does still need a polish base to stick to.

These steps need to be repeated on the thumb and ring finger nail, that we will be creating the tropical design.

* Paints colors you will need for the sky: dark blue, light blue, white, purple (which you can't really see in this design, but it's their), pink, red, orange, and red.* 

Let your base polish color dry. Then for the topical design on the thumb and ring finger nail. On a larger flat brush near the cuticle paint a dark blue, then a light blue, then have a small bit of purple and pink in the corner. Then with the fan brush (while the paint is still kind of wet) start to blend those together, you will need to go over this a few time for the sky to be opaque. I did the blue, darker part first and then went to the orange, red part.

Then after I got the first part of the sky the way I wanted, I moved on the the secound half the red and orange part. On that same brush I took orange and yellow and red and blend them together. 

*For the sky it does take kind of a lot of blending and adding more paint to get the sky the way you want it, sometimes I had to add more of a color in to have it look just right because some of the sky would look to dark or to light.*

Now on to the land and the palm trees. Take a black nail polish (that way it last longer and it doesn't tend to rub of) and make the tip of your nails black, kind of like a french manicure. 

For the palm tree we will first make a the large palm tree in the middle of the nail, then the two small palm trees next to it. Take your thin stripper brush with black paint on it, from the middle of the nail make a long straight line for the tree trunk.Then make six curved lines and two straight lines for the outline of the palm tree, then you just add small lines to the branches for the palm leaves. 

For the smaller palm trees repeat the last step with fewer curved lines.

Once you have your sky colors blended the way you like and your palm trees as well, apply a top coat to seal in your design and to make it nice and shinny.

For this nail design it is best to use acrylic paint, it would probably be hard and kind or impossible to blend regular nail polish, but if you use gel polish this could probably be done that way, I just have never tried it that way.

Safe In My Shell- Turtle Nail Design

Hello everyone! Sorry that once again I have gone missing for a few weeks, life has just been kind of stressful and allergy season has really been bad for me. Anyways for this week we will be creating a cute turtle nail design, this design is inspired by my favorite online T-shirt company TeeTurtles. They have the cutest mascot, a turtle and I thought it would be cool to create a turtle nail design inspired by their mascot.

Here are the polishes and nail art tools used for the cute turtle nail design:  

 

Base and Top Coat- CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Polishes- Colors by llarowe- Arturo, KBShimmer- Peridot- August Birthstone, OPI Hawaii- My Gecko Does Tricks, and Sinful Color- HD Nails.

Acrylic paint- black, green, and yellow.

Nail art brushes- thin detail brush and a stripper brush.

Other- small cup of water to clean off your nail art brushes.

Turtle shell nail design

As always start off with a thin layer of base to protect your nails and to help your polish to last. As always I used CND Stickey Base Coat, I love this base coat and don't want/ need to try any more base coats.

Let your base coat dry.

Once that has dried, we will polish our base colors, on your thumb,index, ring and pinky finger nail, polish that a light blue (I used Colors by llarowe- Arturo) and for your middle finger nail, polish that with a glittery green polish (I used KBShimmer- Peridot- August Birthstone.) Also for some reason the two KBShimmer birthstone polishes that I purchased a few years ago changed colors, which has never happen to any of my polishes.

Once your polishes has dried on to the fun part, the nail art. On the index and ring finger nail we will be create the turtle's shell. I used two different colored green polishes but you don't have to. On the index nail take a dark green polish (I used Sinful Color- HD Nails) and make a circle shape with the brush that is in the polish. Then if you would like, do the same thing with that same polish or a light green (I used OPI Hawaii- My Gecko Does Tricks) on the ring finger nail.

Let the green circles dry and then with black paint outline the circle, then in the middle you can create a diamond shape or a rectangle in the middle of the circle, then make four lines going from each corner of the diamond or rectangle out toward the circle.

Last but not least is the cute turtle on the thumb nail. Make a medium size circle in the middle of the nail for his head and fill that in twice to be fully opaque, then make an oval shape for his body fill in his tummy with yellow, them make two arms and two legs, then on his tummy make a checker board pattern. Then lastly make to black dots for his eyes and a curved line for his smile.

Golden Pineapple- Pineapple Nail Design

Hello everyone! This week will be sticking to the tropical theme again, with another tropical nail design, this time we will be creating pineapple nails. When it comes to a tropical vacation other then the beautiful ocean, palm trees and nice weather, I think of yummy, juicy pineapple. I personally think pineapple from Hawaii is the best!

Here are the polishes and nail art tools used for this yummy pineapple design:

   

Base and Top coat- CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Nail polishes- Cupcake Polish- Some Berry to Love, Sinful Color-Let's Meet, Color Club- Daisy Does it, Sinful Color- HD Nails, OPI Hawaii- My Gecko Does Tricks, and OPI Hawaii- Do you take Lei away.

Acrylic paint- white

Nail art brushes- thin liner and detail brushes.

Other- small glass jar with acetone in it to clean off nail art brushes, and a cup of water to clean off nail art brushes as well.

Let's start this yummy golden pineapple nail design!

 

As always apply a thin layer of base coat to protect your nails. 

Once your base coat has dried polish all of your nails with a pink holographic polish, or if you want to be boring (or if you don't have a pink holo polish, which you need in your polish collection!), you can polish all of your nails with a bright pink creme color. 

Once your bright pink holo polish has dried, we will be creating the outline for each of the pineapples, with white acrylic paint, this will help the pineapples to show up on your nails.  On the thumb, middle, and pinky nail we will make a whole pineapple, then on the index, and ring finger nail we will make half of a pineapple.

For the whole pineapples,take a thin liner brush with white paint on it and make an oval shape half way up the nail, some of the nail tip should still be showing. Then for the half pineapples still make a oval shape that cover the tip of the nails. 

Next we will create the leaves that are on top of the pineapples. With a thin detail brush make three curved lines coming from the tops of the pineapple, on each side, then make one line coming from the top. You can have seven or more, or less leaves on top of your pineapples.

 

Now let's make these pineapples colorful and golden. Take a clean liner brush dipped into a shimmery yellow polish (Sinful Color-Let's Meet) and fill in the the oval part. Once that has dried take a glittery yellow (Color Club Daisy Does It) and go over the shimmery yellow.

I ended up having to use two different types of yellow polish because the glitter yellow looked to sheer, but you can always use more of a opaque yellow first then put a glitter yellow over that.  

On to the leaves, take a clean detail brush with a green polish on it and every other leaf fill in the white part of the leaves. Then take a lighter green and fill in the other leaves. 

Back to the pineapple itself, we will be making a crisscross pattern on the pineapple. With a thin detail brush dipped into a peach/ tan colored polish, make a few slanted lines going up the pineapple, then going the other direction make lines that crisscross with the lines you just made. When you are finished the pineapples should look like their are small diamond shapes on them.  

     

Once you have your pineapple design has dried apply a top coat to seal in and protect your nails from chipping. 

As with any nail design you can always change it up. For this design you can always just have a pineapple on the ring finger nail, or have the pineapples on the thumb, middle and index, it is always up to you the on the way you want to do your nail art.

Tropical Sunset- Tropical Nail Design

Hello everyone! Hope all of you have been enjoying your summer! Sorry that once again I have gone missing for a while. A few weeks ago my hubby and I went to New York to celebrate our secound year wedding anniversary, that is why I have not done a post in a few weeks. Anyways summer is my favorite time of year, because of the bright nail polish colors and I love doing tropical nail designs, and I realized that summer is going by super fast, so I thought it is time to create some tropical nail designs before summer is over.  

 

  Topical Sunset Nail Design 

Here are the nail polishes, nail art tools, and a lot of acrylic paint, that are used to create this tropical nail design:

 

  

Base and top coat - CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Nail polishes- Aloha from OPI (as your base color), and Sally Hansen- Hard as Nails- Black Heart (for the tips of the nails or the land.) 

Acrylic paint- white, black, yellow, red, and blue.

Nail art tools- fan brush, two small detail brushes, and a very small detail brush.

Other- small jar or cup with water in it for cleaning up nail art brushes, and a paint palette for mixing paints. 

This design I actually create last year when I was in between jobs and school (I was bored), and decided that I finally need to create this on my own nails.

Let's start this tropical nail design to get away from it all! 

 

Start off with a thin layer of base coat (CND Stickey base coat) to protect your nails.

For all of your nails, polish them with a coral color (Aloha from OPI), even the middle and ring finger nails need to have a polish as your base color, even though all of the design will be done with acrylic paint. 

As stated above this whole tropical design will be done with acrylic paint, and their is a lot of mixing of colors for this design. 

For the sky you will need four colors starting from the top a red, then dark orange, light orange and yellow. 

For the ocean you will need a dark blue, medium color blue, and a light blue, along with white for the waves. 

We will star off with the sky, for this you will need a fan brush to blend the colors together. First dip your fan brush into the red and the dark orange (I did two colors at a time) then brush that onto the nails until it is blended the way you like. Then on a clean fan brush add the light orange and yellow, then brush that on until it is blended, you may need to go over this a few time until you have it the way you like.  

 

Once you have the sky the way you like we will go on to the ocean. With a thin detail brush draw a blue line about half way down the nail near the tip. Then fill that in with the dark blue paint, then with a medium blue start to make the water like it has small waves in it, then add white paint to make the water look even more like waves. With this their is a a lot of trial and error, you just sometimes have to keep going over it to make the water look like it has small waves in it. I actually like how the water turned out better on the practice one, because the water looks more like it has waves in it. 

Next we will create the land, with a thin detail brush with black paint on it, draw a line near  the tip of the nail and then fill that in. I suggest going over this with black nail polish because acrylic paint that is on the tips of the nails tend to rub off even with a top coat applied.    

 

Then on to the palm trees. On the middle finger nail we will make one palm tree, and on the ring finger nail we will make two palm trees, a tall and a short one. For all of the trees, with a thin detail brush make a long line for the tree trunks, that are all different lengths. 

Then for the branches make just a few curved lines for that part, like for example on the palm tree on the middle finger nail I made six different curved lines. 

For the leaves this has a lot of small detail, so you will need a very tiny brush. On the curved branches make very small lines to make the leaves look like palm leaves, do this on all of the branches. 

Last but not least, we will add the sun for the sunset. First we will make the sun with white paint, make a half circle on each nail and fill that in with white paint, then go over that with yellow paint. With the yellow, paint around the sun to give it a glow, and for an added touch you can add a little more yellow to the sky. 

  

 

Once you have your tropical design the way you like, apply a top coat to seal in your nails and to help them last through your tropical vacation or if you are just dreaming of going on a tropical vacation, like me it will help your nails to last too.
