Happy 90th Birthday Mickey Mouse- Mickey Mouse Nail Design

Hello everyone! Today we will be creating a Mickey Mouse nail design to celebrate the mouse's big birthday, his 90th birthday! I have been hearing pretty much all year that it's Mickey Mouse's 90th Birthday, but I was unsure when it was because I actually planned to do this design a few months ago. I looked it up and his birthday is November 18, so the timing for this design ended up working out.

Here are the polishes and nail art tools use for this design:

 

Base and top coat - CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat

Polishes- Sally Hansen- xtreme wear-Celeb city, Zoya- Renee, Color Club- Daisy Does it, NYC- Broadway Burgundy Frost, OPI Hawaii- Do you take Lei away, and Sally Hansen- Hard as Nails- Black Heart.

Acrylic paint- black and white.

Nail art brushes- large dotting tool, thin detail and liner brush, and a very small detail brush.

Small cup or jar with water in it to clean off your nail art brushes. 

I don't know about all of you but Mickey looks pretty good for 90 years old! Let's celebrate his big day with this Mickey Mouse nail design!

Start off with a thin layer of base coat, then let that dry.

Once that has dried we will polish our base colors. Polish your thumb nail with a silver polish, your index with a red creme polish, the middle and pinky finger nail with a glittery yellow, and then your ring finger nail with a glittery red polish. 

Then let that dry.

Now we will make Mickey's body on the index nail. First take a black polish and polish near the top part of the nail near the cuticle, going to about the middle of the nail, making sure that the other half is red for his pants.

Then make two thin lines on the red part for his two buttons on his pants.

Next we will be creating the Mickey shape on the middle and the ring finger nail. On the middle finger nail use a black paint and on the ring finger nail use a white paint. First make a large circle for his head and then make to smaller ones on top of the larger circle, for his ears.

Now on to the pinky finger nail with a lot of Mickey Mouse shapes on it. Take your large doting tool with black paint or polish, dot one dot for his head and then two smaller dots on the top of that dot for his ears, you can repeat this step as may times as you would like.

Last but far from least is the star of this design Mickey Mouse himself. For Mickey I first put down a very thin layer of white paint to just get the outline of Mickey. First make kind of a heart shape at the top for his head and then make to half circles on the sides for his checks. Then once the white outline is dry go over that with a peach/tan colored polish a few time to be opaque. 

Then on to his ears and the side of his face. For the side of his face just follow the outline of the top of his head, but just make this part very thick. Then make to circles on top of this head for his ears.  

Lastly is Mickey's face. We will first make his eyes, take a thin detail brush with white paint on it and make two long ovals right next to each other, then fill them in with the white. Once that is dry make two smaller black ovals in the white oval for his pupils.

For his nose, first make a large arch right under his eyes, then under that arch make a oval for his nose and fill that in with black. 

Now to complete Mickey we need to make his smile, take your very small detail brush with black paint on it make a large curved line, then two small curved lines at the end of each of the larger curved line.

Once you have your Mickey Mouse design the way you like apply a top coat to seal in your design and to help it last.

Here is the other design that I did on my right hand a more simple version, with just the Mickey shapes on the thumb and ring finger nail, this is the same design that I did on my pinky finger nail. 

Mickey Mouse has always been my favorite ever since I was little, so it is always fun to make any Disney themed nail design.

Showers Bring Sunflowers- Sunflower Nail Design

Hello everyone! Today we will be celebrating the warm/ nice weather that finally decided to stick around. We will be creating a sunflower nail design on our nails, which will be great for the spring or summer time.

  Sunflower Nail Design

Here are the nail polishes and nail art tools for this sunflower nail design. 

 

Base and Top coat- CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat. (same as always)

Nail polishes- NYC- Water street blue ( I don't think you can find this in the stores anymore, but you can always find this color in another brand), Sally Hansen- Hard as Nails - No hard feelings, and Sinful Colors- Frenzy.

Acrylic paint- white, yellow, blue, and red (yellow, blue, and red to make a brown colored paint)

Nail art brushes- two thin detailed brushes. 

Other- a small jar or cup to put water in, to clean off your nail art brushes. 

Let's start this Sunflower nail design!

Sunflower Nail Design

As all ways start off with a thin layer of base coat to protect your natural nails and to help your polish to last.

Then let that dry, then once that has dried polish your thumb, middle, and pinky nail with a ocean or water colored blue (I used NYC- Water street blue, I am not sure if NYC still makes nail polish, but you can always find this color in another brand.) On your index and ring finger nail polish those nails with a light purple (I used Sally Hansen- Hard as Nails - No hard feelings.) Also on the pinky nail I just polished some blue and purple glitter over the blue polish.

Let your base colors dry and then we will start to make our sunflowers. On all of the nails I made each sunflower a little bit different. On the thumb nail I made two half flowers, the index a half flower near the cuticle, the middle finger nail a whole flower, then a half flower near the tip of the nail and then on the ring finger nail I made a large half flower.

For all of the sunflowers you first start off with the center part of the flower. I mixed blue, yellow, and red to make a brown colored paint because I don't have a brown paint. For the half flower just make half a circle and fill that in and then make some yellow dots in the middle for the seeds.

For the petals I used two yellows, one yellow I just added some white paint to it to change it up some. To make the petals you just make triangle shapes, and switch between the two yellows for each petal.

Once you have your sunflowers the way you like apply a top coat to seal in your design and to help your design to last all spring and summer, or at lest a few days or a week.

A lot of time on my right hand I like to keep that design more simple. On my right hand I did the sunflower design on just my thumb and ringer finger and applied the blue and purple glitter on my index, middle, and pinky nails.

Always have room for Dessert- Dessert Nail Design

Hello everyone! I don't know about all of you, but no matter how full I seem to feel after eating a meal I always feel like I have room for dessert, even if it is just something small. I always say I have a special compartment in my stomach for desserts, especially if that dessert is chocolatey, then I can always find room for that, yes I am a Chocoholic, gotta love chocolate everything!  Anyways sometime ago I purchased some polishes that are dessert themed, I have done a design before with these polishes but I wanted to do another one using these same polishes. Unfortunately I looked these polishes up online and I can't find them anymore, but you could probably make your polish look similar.      

 

 Dessert Anyone? Dessert Nail Design

Here are the polishes and tools used for this dessert nail design: 

Base and Top Coat- CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Nail polishes- Pretty& Polished- Donut Ever Let Me Go, Pretty& Polished- Double, Double, Toil and Truffle, Zoya Mini- Eden, NYC- Brownstone, OPI Hawaii- Do you take Lei away, and OPI mini- Hawaii- Suzi shops & island hops. 

Acrylic paints- white, red, yellow, and blue (three colors for making brown.)   

Nail art tools- medium dotting tool, and thin line and detail brush.

Other- cup of water for cleaning brushes, and a small glass jar with acetone for cleaning brushes. 

Let's start this yummy nail design!

* As with most nail art designs that we do, their will be a lot of jumping around from one nail to another, as we wait for each part to dry.  

 

 Dessert Nail Design

First start off with a thin layer of base coat to protect your nails. 

Then once that has dried paint your thumb and middle finger nail with your pink dessert polish (Donut Ever Let Me Go) If you don' have this polish take a light pink and a rainbow glitter polish for sprinkles. Then paint your index and pinky nail with a chocolate brown polish (Double, Double, Toil and Truffle) if you don't have that polish take a brown and some copper of gold glitter polish to make a similar one. Then for you ring finger polish this nail with a pink creme polish.   

The index and pinky finger will stay as is with just the chocolate polish on it. 

Once that has dried we will start with the middle finger nail, the chocolate drip over the pink frosting. Take a dotting tool with a opaque brown polish and starting at the tip of the nail dab the polish all the way across the nail, then staring in the middle or on the sides of the nail start to make the drips with a dot at the end (I made three drips you can always make more if you would like), then at the bottom of the nail make two random dots, for some extra chocolate that has dripped.

Then once that has dried take Double, Double, Toil and Truffle and go over the brown polish. 

Next we will make the ice cream cone on the ring finger nail. Take a thin detail brush with a tan or peach polish and make a triangle shape for the ice cream cone.

Then with white paint we will make the outline of the ice cream, take a thin detail brush and make three long oval shapes, that are stacked on top of each other, making each one smaller as you get to the top of the ice cream.

Once your white outline has dried, with a dotting tool dipped into Donut Ever Let Me Go, dab the polish onto the white outline or ice cream part. Then on the cone you can add a drip of ice cream as well.

 

 Cupcake Nail design 

Now on to the cute cupcake. Take a liner brush dipped into a pink polish (the same polish that you used as the base color on your ring finger nail) and make a small square. 

Then we will start to make the cupcake, with a thin detail brush with white paint on it make three curved lines, then at the top make one big curved line that will all connect and then fill that in with the white paint. 

For the chocolate part repeat the last step just with brown paint, if you don't have brown paint mix yellow, red, and blue to make the color brown. Once the brown paint has dried take Double, Double, Toil and Truffle on a dotting tool and dab that onto the top of the cupcake. 

On your cupcake wrapper take a lighter pink polish and make a few small thin lines. 

For an added touch you can add a cherry on top. Take a medium size dotting tool with red paint or polish and make a small dot on top of the cupcake.

Once your yummy dessert nails have dried apply a top coat to seal in your design and to help your dessert nails to last until dinner or whatever meal you are eating is over, well longer then that.

Also here is a link to the first dessert design that I did, this one also had a cupcake, some chocolate dips, and a doughnut, cookies and piece of chocolate. I actually think my second design turned out better then the first one, but the first one I create was still cute.
