Easy Gradient- blue and green gradient

Hello everyone! Happy long Memorial Day weekend! Today on the blog we will be creating a very easy gradient nail design, this is ocean like and great for Spring and Summer time. For  this simple nail design, all you will need is nail polish and the brush that comes in the polish, no make up sponges. We are using two light colored polishes from Glam Polish; the child a light green polish and sandy toes anything goes a light blue polish.

Gradient Nail Design

All you need is two nail polishes, no tools:

Glam Polish- Sandy Toes Anything GoesGlam Polish- The Child

Glam Polish- Sandy Toes anything goes and The Child.

Gradient Nail Design

Apply a top coat.

Let that dry.

Then on to the gradient.

Gradient Nail Design

When I polish my nails I always start with the pinky nail, then end with the thumb nail. If you do the same then starting with the pinky nail or whatever finger nail you start off with when you polish.

First open both of your polishes, take the light green polish (The Child) and polish one side and then take your light blue polish (Sandy Toes Anything Goes) polish the other side by overlapping the green polish.

Just make sure to over lap the two polishes when you are polishing the nails to blend the polishes together.

Repeat this step on all of the nails, for this light colored gradient I did have to apply three coats, each time making sure to overlap the colors so they can blend together, even if you have to slightly go over the polishes again just to bend them.

More of a look a the blue side, Glam Polish Sandy Toes Anything Goes.

Once you have your gradient nail design just right apply a top coat top seal in your design and to help it to last.

That is all that is to this easy nail design. For this gradient I did try it with the make up sponge but I could not get it to work, so I found this way to work best with the two light colored polishes. I am not sure how well this will work with darker colored polishes, it works great with light colored polishes. I actually learned this method from Simply Nailogical Cristine, she did a gradient with her recent Holo Taco collection this way, she just called it a lazy gradient.

If you have trouble with gradients maybe this might be an easier method on creating a gradient.

Hope all of you enjoyed this easy spring/ summer gradient!

See you next time for more nail fun!

You Glow- Multichrome Flower Nail Design

Hello everyone! Today on the blog we will be creating flowers on our nails that looks like they are glowing from the multi-chrome polish we will be using, we are not using glow in the dark polish, we are just using multi-chrome that shifts in color and just looks like it is glowing because of the ark colored background. This design is great for spring and summer, even though I picked a dark blue and an ocean blue.

Multichrome Flower Nail Design

Here are the polish and nail art tools used to create this glowing flower nail design.

Base and top coat- CND Stickey Base Coat and CND Super Shiney Top Coat.

Polish- Zoya- Twinkling- Jen, OPI Fiji- Do you Sea what I Sea, Holo Taco-Wireless Mode- Lite Mode Collection, Holo Taco- Flash Drive- Lite Mode Collection, Holo Taco- Scattered, and Holo Taco- Flakie.

Nail art tools- Thin detail and stripper brush.

Multichrome Flower Nail Design

Apply a base coat.

Let that dry.

Polish-

Thumb and ring finger nail- dark blue polish (Zoya Jen)

Index, middle, and pinky finger nail- shimmery ocean blue polish (OPI Do You See What I Sea?)

Let that dry.

Multichrome Flower Nail Design

Multichrome Flower Nail Design

This design is very simple, on three nails the thumb, index, and ring finger nail we will be making a flower, that is off to the side of the nail.

Multichrome Flower Nail Design

On the thumb and ring finger nails we will be using Holo Taco- Wireless Mode for the flower.

On the index nail we will be using Holo Taco- Flash Drive for the flower.

Multichrome Flower Nail Design

Multichrome Flower Nail Design

Starting with the index nail and using Holo Taco- Flash Drive for or flower. Take that polish on a thin striper brush, on the right hand corner, staring in the middle make a line, then one above that, and another line next to that, then two more lines under the middle line. Basically we will be making a star shape, five line for each petal.

Once you have your five lines, take that same brush with the Holo Taco Flash Drive polish on it and make petal shapes using the lines as a guide.

Multichrome Flower Nail Design

On the ring finger repeat this same step, just us the Holo Taco Wireless Mode polish.

Multichrome Flower Nail Design

Once again repeat the same step on the thumb with Holo Taco Wireless Mode polish.

For a last step of the flowers we will add the center part of the flower. Take a small detail brush with some Holo Taco Flakie on it and on all the nails that you made a flower put a dot of that polish in the middle of the flower.

Multichrome Flower Nail Design

For a final touch add a shattered holo polish on all of the nails. I did not apply the holo on over the flowers, just on the background.

Multichrome Flower Nail Design

Multichrome Flower Nail Design

Once you have finished your flowers apply a top coat to seal in your design and to help it to last. For this design I did only do the flowers on three fingers, if I would have gone back I would have done the flowers on all of the nails.

Hope all of you enjoyed this flower nail design.

See you next time for more nail fun!

Products We Love that Get Discontinued- Nail Care

Hello everyone! We all have certain products that we have been using for a long time maybe even for years, then we run out of these products and we go to the store or online to get more of this item and we can't find it. 😭 Then we later find out this product is discontinued and we can no longer get this item, now what do we do? Today I will be going over some nail care products that I have been using for a long time and sadly I can not find these products anymore and what products I use instead.

This sadly has happen to all of use, and with the pandemic happen there has been a lot of supply chain issues and small business that might have gone out of business.

I am going to talk about the first item that I am very sad that I can't get this nail care item anymore.

That item is Nail Butter. I have been using Nail Butter since 2014 or 2015, I found out about this product from a few YouTubers that I am subscribed to, they had said that it had really helped out their nails and cuticle area. This product you could only buy online on NailButter.com, it was a small business ran by lady name Christine that lives in Georgia.

Nail Butter I felt did wonders for my nails, before the skin around my nails would have small pieces of loose skin that would keep showing up (I know sounds kind of gross, but it was not as gross as it sounds.) then after using Nail Butter it went away. At first you use this twice a day morning and night, then after a month you use it only at night. This in combo with the CND Solar Oil has done wonders for my nails.

I am beyond sad that I can't get anymore after my last jar is gone. 😭 Nail Butter does last a very long time, a small jar last me about a year or even just a little longer.

In 2020 In November I did order my last jar of Nail Butter and I kind of had a clue then that might be my last jar because it took a month to get to me and usually it doesn't take that long Georgia is not far from me.

Once my last jar of Nail Butter is gone, I will try the cuticle butter from Lush the Lemony Flutter. I have heard that this product is good, so we shall see. I just would rather by Nail Butter to support a small business, but sadly Nail Butter is no more.

Here is my review of Nail Butter from 2016: butter-up-with-nail-butter

Next we have a Top Coat that I have been using for many years, that I can not find anymore.

The Revlon Extra Life No Chip Top Coat, I don't even remember how long I have been using this top coat it has been that long. Before this top coat I loved a topcoat from Sally Hansen called No Chip Acrylic Top Coat, then all of a sudden it just didn't seem to work as well, so I found the Revlon top coat.

Revlon is mainly a makeup brand and for the past few years I have been having a harder time even find their nail polishes, I could only find the top coat at Meijer. Then once again at the beginning of 2022 I could not find this top coat. I am not sure if this was because of supply chain issues or if Revlon plains to not make nail polish anymore.

Now I have been using the CND Super Shine High Gloss Top Coat, the one with a pink tint to it. This one has been good so far, I use this with any polish and the CND Stickey Base for my base coat.

That was the product that where just recently discounted for this year, really I am especially sad about Nail Butter.

As for some other products that I have loved over the years, that where discounted sometime ago.

The Yes To Carrot Body Butter, I loved using this body butter on my hands day and night it didn't seem to thick or greasy. I had gone though so many jars of this body butter, then sadly Yes To don't make this anymore.

As for lotion that I use now, it changes all the time. Right now I have been using the Cerave Moisturizing cream in the morning/ day because it is not to greasy and moisturizes well. Then at night I use the Gold Bound Aloe lotion, this lotion is thick and kind of greasy that why I save it for night time use. In the winter, at night I use the Aveeno Baby Eczema Therapy Nighttime balm, this stuff is very thick and great for dry winter skin.

Before this I was using a lotion from Hempz the pineapple and melon lotion, this lotion smells amazing, then my hands started to not like it and I got a rash on my hands, so that why I have been using the Cerave lotion.

Next we have a scrub that I used on my hand for a long time.

The Yes To Coconut Body Scrub, this was another product that I loved and used for a long that they stopped making. Now the Yes To line just makes face products no more body care.

For hand scrubs I have tried Shea Moisture body scrub, that was more of dry scrub formula that was ok. Then I tried the Tree Hut Mango sugar scrub that one I felt like was similar to the Yes To Coconut.

At first I would us this scrub all over my hands and nails (I use a brush just on the nail area only) after removing polish, then a few day later before applying polish. Then when my skin started to get intreated for the lotion I was using, I just us the scrub on my palms and finger/ nails after removing nail polish, so just once a week.

Recently I found this scrub the Beloved Coconut and Warm Vanilla Whipped body butter. I feel like this one is great for the hands if you want to use a scrub, due to the whipped formula it has a lotion feel to it and a very little bit of sugar grit to it, plus it smell good too.

Well that is all of the products that I can think of that I loved that have been discontinued, some products where easy to find new possible favorites(I don't want to say replacement, because I feel like that just sounds bad), other it is a on going search, like lotions.

Hope all of you enjoyed this post of product that I loved that I can no longer find. I know we all have been there. 😓 Hopefully a lot of product that we love will stick around forever, we can only hope. 😔

Also here is a link to my nail care routine that I did back in 2017, for the most part it is still then same, just a few product changes. updated-nail-and-hand-care-routine

Holo Taco Lite Mode Multichrome Collection Review

Hello everyone! Today we will be taking a look at the newest collection from Holo Taco, the Lite Mode Collection. This is a collection of multi-chrome polishes, that are similar to Cristine's multi-chrome collection that she came out with in fall of 2020, the main difference is the other collection had darker colors and seem to have more of a shift in colors, this collection has more light colors hints the name lite mode. Also if you don't know what multi chrome polish is it is a polish that shifts in color depending on the light, most of the polishes in this collection shift to 2 colors, some multi-chrome polishes can shift to more than 2 to 3 colors depending on the polish.

Holo Taco Lite Mode Collection

Let's take a look at the Holo Taco Lite Mode Collection.

Holo Taco Lite Mode Collection

Like all of the Holo Taco collections all of them come in a nice collection box. Their are 5 polishes in this collection.

Here are the polishes in side of the box.

Holo Taco Lite Mode Collection

As with all of the Holo Taco polishes this collection are all in individual black boxes.

Holo Taco Lite Mode Collection

Here is what the polishes look like outside of the small boxes.

Now let's take a look the the individual polishes.

Holo Taco Lite Mode Collection- Sunset Simulation

Holo Taco Lite Mode Collection- Sunset Simulation

First we have Sunset Simulation this polish is described as an amber colored multichrome with a pink shift. To me in my photos it kept looking brown, in real life this polish looks kind of copper.

All of these polishes have a sheer finish on the first coat, and can get to full coverage in three coats.

With this polish I also to photos on the white background to see if it looked any different.

They still kind of just look brown to me, maybe a little bit copper like in a few of the photos. All of the other polishes I just took photos on the black background.

Holo Taco Lite Mode Collection- Flash Drive

Holo Taco Lite Mode Collection- Flash Drive

Next we have Flash Drive this is described as a purple mutichrome polish that has a magenta shift to it.

Holo Taco Lite Mode Collection- Wireless Mode

Wireless Mode is described as a multichrome cobalt blue with a turquoise shift. This is a very ocean like color.

Holo Taco Lite Mode Collection- Lite Link

Holo Taco Lite Mode Collection- Lite Link

Holo Taco Lite Mode Collection- Lite Link

Holo Taco Lite Mode Collection- Lite Link

Lite Link is described as a multichrome that shifts between teal and green. I also think their is a  gold shift to this polish as well. This polish also gives me ocean/ mermaid vibes.

Holo Taco Lite Mode Collection- Encryption Key

Holo Taco Lite Mode Collection- Encryption Key

Holo Taco Lite Mode Collection- Encryption Key

Lastly we have Encryption Key this is described as a
reddish, pink and orange multichrome polsih. In my photos this polish look more pink.

Then in the photo of the polish, it looks more orange It just depends on the lighting for all of these polishes. Which is what is cool about multichromes that they look different in all kind of light.

In conclusion I am a big fan of Holo Taco and I like Cristine's YouTube channels. I did really like this collection, I love bright fun polishes, and I know that these polishes are meant to be on the sheer side to show that shift in colors. I would have to say that formula wise this was my lest favorite collection, also maybe because I am not that great at polishing more sheerer polishes. I do still really like this collection it is very pretty and I would recommend this collection to anyone that loves bright fun and unique polishes.

My two favorite polishes are Wireless Mode and Lite Mode, I like these two the most because they remind me of the ocean and I love blue.

My next favorites are Encryption Key and Flash Drive. To me Encryption Key reminds me of a fiery sunset and I like how this one looks the most different depending on the light. Flash drive I also like because purple is also one of my favorite colors.

Lastly I would have to say Sunset Simulation this polish just leans to neutral for me, which I don't care for. In my opinion this does't remind me of a sunset. This would be a great color for someone that is just starting off want to wear more brighter unique colors.

Also I thought these polishes would look even better with a Holo Taco Holo Topcoat (the holographic topcoats from Holo Taco) and to me they look even better.
