Lush Lemon Flutter Cuticle Butter Review

Hello everyone! Today on the blog we will be taking a look at a cuticle care item, the Lush Lemon Flutter Cuticle Butter. This is not a new item, I just had never tried it before and really had no need to try it because I had a cuticle cream that I loved Nail Butter, sadly that product you could only get online and I think Nail Butter went out of business. So then I wanted to find another cuticle cream that might be just as good. 

When I purchased this at the Lush store at the mall the girl at the store did hype of this product saying this was a holly grail product and I have read some review online in the past that said it was good, so I wanted to give it a try for myself. 

Let's see if this cuticle butter is any good and if it could replace my beloved Nail Butter. I have/ had been using the for about six months, back in August of 2023 was when I first stared to use Lemon Flutter. 

Above is a photo of what the product looks like, it has a thick butter like constancy. When you use this you only need a tiny bit to put on each nail, due to the product being very thick. This butter is kind of on the greasy side because their is a lot of oils in it, but you really only need the smallest amount and if you apply lotion after it's not to bad. 

Lemon Flutter clams to help soften dry, cracked skin and to nourish your nails, it also can be used on your feet, elbows and knees or I guess anywhere that is very dry.

Fresh Lemon Infusion, Fair Trade Shea Butter, Beeswax, Cupuaçu Butter, Soya Oil,Organic Avocado Oil, Organic Linseed Oil, Mango Butter, Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, Organic Castor Oil, Fragrance, Wheatgerm Oil, Sicilian Lemon Oil, Lavender Oil, Tagetes Oil, Chamomile Blue Oil, Gardenia Extract, Triethanolamine, Stearic Acid, Cetearyl Alcohol, *Citral, *Citronellol, *Coumarin, *Geraniol, *Limonene, *Linalool, Methylparaben, Propylparaben.

As you can see there is a lot in this product. The noted Ingredients on the website are Lemon, Avocado, Shea and Linseed. 

Lemon Flutter contains 1.7oz (50g) of product for $25.00 USD. Which I think is kind of pricey for a small amount of product. As stated above a little goes a long way and after using this for 6 months as you can see it doesn't look like I used much at all. 

So what do I think of this product, I sadly do not care for it and after that 6 months of use I stoped using it. I would apply this just at night let it soak into the nails for a while, then apply CND Solar Oil, then lotion. 

I felt like it's didn't do anything for my nails/ cuticles, my nails are in really good condition, My hands do get dry in the winter and some of my nails do peel just a little at the tip of the nail. When I used Nail Butter and CND Solar Oil for all thoughts years I felt like I could see some improvement, not with Lemon Flutter. 

In Conclusion I am disappointed in the product and felt like it didn't do anything for the nails/ cuticles and for the price of $25, it is not worth it, just use a cuticle oil. So no this did not replace my beloved Nail Butter, which I miss so much. ☹️😭  

In the past I have used Burt's Bee Cuticle Cream, which is also Lemon scented and has the same constancy and is way more affordable it is only $6.49 for 0.6oz. So if you would like to use a cuticle cream I do remember liking this, but that was before I tried Nail Butter, now I am not sure if I would still like the Burt's Bee Cuticle Cream. 

For my cuticle and hand care I have still been using CND Cuticle Oil and now I am trying another cuticle oil from a brand that is made in Hawaii called Kapa Nui, along with different lotions. I have been using this cuticle oils since February and so far I do like it, I will see with prolong use if it I do see any improvement in my nails, I do get a little bit of peeling on the tips of my nails. 

In 6 months or maybe sooner I will do a review on the Kapa Nui Cuticle oil to report back on my thoughts of prolong use of this oil.

Products We Love that Get Discontinued- Nail Care

Hello everyone! We all have certain products that we have been using for a long time maybe even for years, then we run out of these products and we go to the store or online to get more of this item and we can't find it. 😭 Then we later find out this product is discontinued and we can no longer get this item, now what do we do? Today I will be going over some nail care products that I have been using for a long time and sadly I can not find these products anymore and what products I use instead. 

This sadly has happen to all of use, and with the pandemic happen there has been a lot of supply chain issues and small business that might have gone out of business. 

I am going to talk about the first item that I am very sad that I can't get this nail care item anymore. 

That item is Nail Butter. I have been using Nail Butter since 2014 or 2015, I found out about this product from a few YouTubers that I am subscribed to, they had said that it had really helped out their nails and cuticle area. This product you could only buy online on NailButter.com, it was a small business ran by lady name Christine that lives in Georgia. 

Nail Butter I felt did wonders for my nails, before the skin around my nails would have small pieces of loose skin that would keep showing up (I know sounds kind of gross, but it was not as gross as it sounds.) then after using Nail Butter it went away. At first you use this twice a day morning and night, then after a month you use it only at night. This in combo with the CND Solar Oil has done wonders for my nails. 

I am beyond sad that I can't get anymore after my last jar is gone. 😭 Nail Butter does last a very long time, a small jar last me about a year or even just a little longer. 

In 2020 In November I did order my last jar of Nail Butter and I kind of had a clue then that might be my last jar because it took a month to get to me and usually it doesn't take that long Georgia is not far from me. 

Once my last jar of Nail Butter is gone, I will try the cuticle butter from Lush the Lemony Flutter. I have heard that this product is good, so we shall see. I just would rather by Nail Butter to support a small business, but sadly Nail Butter is no more.

Next we have a Top Coat that I have been using for many years, that I can not find anymore.

The Revlon Extra Life No Chip Top Coat, I don't even remember how long I have been using this top coat it has been that long. Before this top coat I loved a topcoat from Sally Hansen called No Chip Acrylic Top Coat, then all of a sudden it just didn't seem to work as well, so I found the Revlon top coat. 

Revlon is mainly a makeup brand and for the past few years I have been having a harder time even find their nail polishes, I could only find the top coat at Meijer. Then once again at the beginning of 2022 I could not find this top coat. I am not sure if this was because of supply chain issues or if Revlon plains to not make nail polish anymore.

Now I have been using the CND Super Shine High Gloss Top Coat, the one with a pink tint to it. This one has been good so far, I use this with any polish and the CND Stickey Base for my base coat.  

That was the product that where just recently discounted for this year, really I am especially sad about Nail Butter.

As for some other products that I have loved over the years, that where discounted sometime ago.  

The Yes To Carrot Body Butter, I loved using this body butter on my hands day and night it didn't seem to thick or greasy. I had gone though so many jars of this body butter, then sadly Yes To don't make this anymore. 

As for lotion that I use now, it changes all the time. Right now I have been using the Cerave Moisturizing cream in the morning/ day because it is not to greasy and moisturizes well. Then at night I use the Gold Bound Aloe lotion, this lotion is thick and kind of greasy that why I save it for night time use. In the winter, at night I use the Aveeno Baby Eczema Therapy Nighttime balm, this stuff is very thick and great for dry winter skin. 

Before this I was using a lotion from Hempz the pineapple and melon lotion, this lotion smells amazing, then my hands started to not like it and I got a rash on my hands, so that why I have been using the Cerave lotion. 

Next we have a scrub that I used on my hand for a long time.

The Yes To Coconut Body Scrub, this was another product that I loved and used for a long that they stopped making. Now the Yes To line just makes face products no more body care. 

For hand scrubs I have tried Shea Moisture body scrub, that was more of dry scrub formula that was ok. Then I tried the Tree Hut Mango sugar scrub that one I felt like was similar to the Yes To Coconut. 

At first I would us this scrub all over my hands and nails (I use a brush just on the nail area only) after removing polish, then a few day later before applying polish. Then when my skin started to get intreated for the lotion I was using, I just us the scrub on my palms and finger/ nails after removing nail polish, so just once a week. 

Recently I found this scrub the Beloved Coconut and Warm Vanilla Whipped body butter. I feel like this one is great for the hands if you want to use a scrub, due to the whipped formula it has a lotion feel to it and a very little bit of sugar grit to it, plus it smell good too. 

Well that is all of the products that I can think of that I loved that have been discontinued, some products where easy to find new possible favorites(I don't want to say replacement, because I feel like that just sounds bad), other it is a on going search, like lotions.

Nail Care

Hello everyone! Welcome to my second post for today on the subject of nail care! As stated in my 1st post about nail and cuticle care, their are more to nails than just painting them, you also need to take care of them as well.  

Once again I just want to start off my saying this is just the routine that I do to take care of my nails. I am not necessarily saying it is the right or wrong way.

Nail Polish Removers:

I'll first start off with one of the nail polish removers I like to use, the Sally Hansen Kwik Off polish remover. This polish remover has a sponge on the inside with 3 holes in it. 
I like this nail polish remover because it is a faster way to remove your polish, but this remover doesn't always remove all your polish. Sometimes if their is still polish left behind, I'll just take a cotton ball and remove the rest. The down side to polish particular remover is that in a short amount of time the remover inside get's dirty kind of fast. I tend to go through a lot of these, and every few months I have to buy a new one. 
 - Sally Hansen Kwik Off polish remover cost $2.19.

The 2nd polish remover I use if the Sally Hansen Kwik Off polish remover doesn't take off all my polish is the Up & Up dispenser pump. Right now I have a Meijer brand remover in this bottle that seems to work out. (I also did a review on this magnificent finds- dispenser pump) 

The last polish remover I use is the Up & Up acetone polish remover. I use this for removing stubborn glitter polish, and for clean up around my nails (this remover seems to remove the polish around my fingers better and quicker.) I don't like to use this that often due to the fact that it can leave my fingers feeling very dry.

This is a glass jar I use to put the Up &Up acetone remover in to clean my nail art brushes while doing my nail art. At first I made the mistake of using a plastic jar, which melted due to the acetone. I got this small glass jar at Hobby lobby for I think around a $1. 

For nail polish thinner I use Beauty Secrets nail polish thinner. At first, I heard you can just put polish remover in your polish that has gotten thick, but I later found out that is a bad idea. That would mess up your polish in time. So I found this a Sally Beauty and thought I would give it a try. It seemed to work out okay, though at times it still seems like my polish is a little thick even after putting a few drops in.

For removing extra polish on my nails that the Kwik Off remover 

doesn't remove, I just use basic UP & Up cotton balls (I love Target!) 

For cleaning up the sides of my nails and cuticles I use Q-tips precision tips cotton swabs. (trust me these are needed, I tend to be a little messy when painting my nails and I get polish on the side of my fingers.)

Nail filing and clipping:

The next items I use is for when I cut and file my nails. This kit is the Ms. Manicure set I bought years ago at Walmart (so I don't remember how much this was, and if they still even sell this anymore). I have also added a lot of different ideas to this, not all of the stuff shown was included in this. I also don't always use all of the items in this kit. 

When it comes to cutting and filing my nails, I do this once a month. I am not too sure if I really cut and file them right because every month when my nails start to grow out they start to feel very sharp. So I wont be going over how I cut and file my nails, just the tools I use. 

The first items I use when cutting my nails is that very large Trim nail clipper, I bought this in the hopes that when I cut my nails it would cut a little smoother. I also, at times,  just use a normal size nail clippers (the 2nd one in the photo). The 3rd and 4th nail clippers I use to cut hang nails or loose skin on the side of my fingers (gross!) For some reason those two are better for cutting hang nails (yes I use baby nail clippers, to get on the sides of my nails.) 

Next I file my nails. I first start off with the Sally Hansen La Cross Crystal nail file as this is supposed to be better for filing your nails by preventing cracking and breaking. Next I use the Kiss 4 way nail shaper (it has different grains, Medium 600- dark blue, Medium fine 400- light blue, Fine 240- light pink and Extra Fine 180- dark pink.) I usually just use the light blue and one or both of the pink sides. Then sometimes I use the purple Ms. Manicure metal file on the edges of my nails near the side of my fingers.

 - The Kiss 4 way nail shaper cost I think around $2.00.

The next and final file I use is the Trim buffing block this has 4 sides to it to even out, smoothing, buffing, and shining. I usually just use the even out and smooth sides. Yes I do use a lot of nails flies when I file my nails, I really have no reason other than some of them seem to smooth in my nails better. But I know I really could lessen the amount of files I use.

 After I put on the Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle remover, I use ether a orange stick or this weird looking cuticle push shown in the photo above. This cuticle pusher is Trim's cuticle pusher and it also came with a small pink nail file as well.

Last item in this kit that I use is this purple brush and sometimes this green baby looking brush to clean out dirt or anything that gets under my nails. 

Extra nail care items:

For one of my extra nail care items I wanted to include the Revlon extra life no chip top coat. I have tried out many different topcoats and have only really like 2 that I have tried out. When I first started to grow my nails out I used Sally Hansen No Chip Acyclic top coat. it seem to work very well for many years then I am not sure what happen, if that changed what was it the top coat or what happened. So I then decided to give this top coat a try and loved it ever since. 

Also included in my many steps in my nail and hand care routine is touch ups. Due to where I work at I get a lot of tip wear (probably more then others), which means I touch them up every other day to everyday (depending on how much my nail polish has chipped). I sometimes just touch up the tips with top coat and other times with both polish and top coat. Uselessly on a good wear week my nail polish last about a week.
