Aloha Tropics- Tropical Nail Design

Hello everyone! It's that time again when I love to create tropical nail designs for summer time. Today we will be creating a gradient on most of the nails with two of the blue polishes from the Holo Taco line and then on the middle and ring finger nail we will create our tropical scene.

Here are the polishes and nail art tools used to create this design:

Base and top coat- CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Polishes- Sally Hansen- Hard as Nails- Hard to get, Holo Taco- Hydropower- Electric Holo Collection, and Holo Taco- Blue Freezie- Rainbow Collection.

Acrylic paint- black, green, blue, yellow, white, and pink.

Nail art brushes- thin stripper brush, detail brush, and a medium flat brush, and a makeup sponge.

Other- small cup of water to clean off your nail art brush.

Apply a base coat, then let that dry.

Polish-

Thumb, index, and pinky- a light holo blue, Holo Taco- Hydropower.

Middle and ring finger nail- a white polish for your base color, Sally Hansen- Hard as Nails- Hard to get, (you will not be seeing any of this polish once our design is done.)

Let that dry.

For this tutorial I will keep the explanation simple because I have created a lot of tropical designs in the past, so that way I am not repeating myself too much.

On both nails we will be making a gradient for the sky. First mix a dark blue and white paint to make a lighter blue, that will be the first color to be painted on (the light blue). Then take a dark green and white to make a light green, that will be your next colors (the light green), and then yellow. Also you can go head and paint on the dark blue for the water. You will need to go over this a few time, I went over this three times.

On your third pass over of the paint start to kind of blend the blue and green and then the green and yellow, to make a gradient.

Then once you have your sky, we will just add a few more details, take some dark blue and put a small amount on the light blue, and then on the yellow add a little bit of pink.

Once you have your sky completed, first make a black thick line in-between the sky and water for the land. Then
make one large palm tree on the left hand corner of the middle finger nail.

On the ring finger nail make one large and small palm trees near the right hand corner of the nail.

Lastly for the water, add some small white lines for some small waves and a little bit of light blue in the water as well.

Also for the sky, just on the blue part, add a few very small white dots for the stars.

Lastly to complete your design on the thumb, index and pink finger nail we will create a gradient using a light blue and a dark blue holo. Staring with
Holo Taco- Hydropower, the light blue holo and then on the tip of the nail Holo Taco- Blue Freezie, the darker blue holo.

Once your nails are tropical vacation ready, apply a top coat to seal in your design and to help make it last. Also for the tropical design it is very important to apply a top coat because we used acrylic paint, this could end up coming off if you don't apply a top coat.

Here is the practice version of this nail design.

Hope all of you enjoyed this tropical nail design!

See you next time for more nail fun!
