Late Night Beach Walk- Tropical Nail Design

Hello everyone! Happy belated 4th of July! Hope everyone had a safe and happy fourth. It's that time of year again when we create beautiful tropical nail art. Around this time last year we where getting ready to go to Hawaii, I miss that place so much, the island is so beautiful and I hope that it will not be another 10 years before we go back. Tropical designs are one of my favorite design to do, so today we will be creating a beautiful walk on the beach design, this was one of my favorite things to do in Hawaii, just walk on the beach at night time or during the day.

Here are the polishes and nail art tools used to create this late night beach walk design:

Base and top coat- CND Super Shiney Top Coat and CND Stickey Base Coat.

Polishes- Zoya- Splash- Jessica, OPI Hawaii- Lost my Bikini in Molokini, Zoya- Twinkling Collection- Jen, Holo Taco-Toppers- Scattered, Holo Taco- Toppers- Flakie and Cover Girl- Boundless color- Disco Dazzle (this polish is very old and I know that you can't find it an stores anymore.)

Acrylic paint- Blue, black, and white.

Nail art brushes- Thin striper, linear and detail brushes.

Other- Water to clean off your brushes and a makeup sponge for gradients. Also for easy clean up liquid latex.

Apply a top coat to clean dry nails, let that dry.

For all of the nails polish them with a purple polish, this is your base color (OPI Hawaii- Lost my Bikini in Molokini)

Let that dry.

For this design we will be creating a gradient on all of the nails, and the tropical scene will be on the middle and ring finger nails.

Purple and Blue Gradient on all of the nails:

First we will create the purple and blue gradient. Take a makeup sponge polish your dark blue polish (Zoya- Jen), then the polish that you used for your base color (OPI Hawaii- Lost my Bikini in Molokini), lastly the grape toned purple polish(Zoya- Jessica.) For best results it is best to kind of over lap the polishes on the sponge.

For an easy clean up apply a liquid latex (I used the Holo Taco one) around all of the fingers, and let that dry.

On most of the nails except the thumb, take the part of the sponge that has the blue polish on it and dap that closes to the cuticle, and the thumb nail do the opposite, the blue part near the tip of the nails. You will need to repeat the first steps and the dabbing part probably one more time to be opaque.

Once your gradient looks good, take some twisters and take off the liquid latex.

Tropical Design on the Middle and Ring Finger Nails:

Now for the tropical sunset set with stars in the sky. First on the tip of the nails with a striper brush with blue paint on it, make a tin line near the tip of the nail, fill that in with blue paint for the ocean.

For the ring finger take a linear brush with black paint on it and on the left side make a rectangle shape that is rounded at the edge, or just a blob like rock formation, and fill that in. Then also on the left side make a palm tree coming out of the rock you just made. (I will not be explaining how to create a palm tree because I have done so many times before in other post.)

Once you have your island you can make the waves in the water, take a thin striper brush with white paint on it make one small wavy line then take a clean brush and swipe up on that line to kind of smudge up that line to make a wave. Repeat that step one more time for one more wave.

Then repeat that step in the sky where the water and the sky meet, to make clouds.

On the middle finger repeat the same steps as the ring finger nail, just make your little island on the left side of the nail.

For the final touch we will need a stars in the sky, we will do that by just adding glitter. First take a scattered holo polish and polish that on the blue part of your gradient, then take a flakie holo polish and polish right over the scattered holo. Lastly take your polish that has the larger holo glitters in it and taking a toothpick take out around three large glitter pieces and place then in the blue part of the sky.

Once your tropical beach walk nails are all set for your late night beach walk, apply a top coat to seal in your design and to add a shine along with helping them to last though your tropical vacation.

Hope all of you enjoyed this tropical nail design, and if you are dream of another tropical vacation like I am hopefully this helps you to also just think of the true beauty that is in this world.

As always here is the practice version.

See you next time for more nail fun!
