Chill-in with My Peeps- Easter Nail Desig

Hello everyone! Happy Easter! Well soon to be Easter, I am posting this a few days earlier just before Easter Day. Today we will be creating a design based on the Easter candy, Peeps. When it comes to Peeps they are not really my favorite Easter candy, but I thought it would be cute to make into a nail design, my favorite Easter candy is the Cadbury eggs, the original and the caramel ones. What is your favorite Easter candy? Peeps, Cadbury eggs, jelly beans, chocolate bunnies?   

 

Peeps Easter Nail Design

Here are the polishes and nail art tools used for this Easter treat nail design: 

 

Base and top coat- CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Nail polishes- Picture Polish- Salt Water- Nailstorming, OPI- Hello Kitty- My Pal Joey, Sinful Colors-Let's Meet, Zoya Mini- Leslie, Zoya Mini- Eden, and Zoya Mini- Daisy.

Acrylic paint- black and white.

Nail at tools- small and medium dotting tools and a thin detail brush.

Other- small glass jar with a little bit of acetone to clean of your nail art brushes, and a cup of water. 

 

 Peeps Easter Nail Design

Start off by applying a thin layer of base coat to your clean nails.

Let that dry.

Once your base coat has dried polish your thumb, middle and ring finger nail with a light blue polish (I used Picture Polish- Salt Water), then polish your index and pinky finger nail with a light yellow polish (I used Zoya- Daisy.)

Let that dry as well.

 

 Peeps Easter Nail Design

Now we will be creating the cute marshmallow bunny Peeps on our thumb, middle, and ring finger nails. For this design I did first make a outline with white paint for the bunnies then went over that with polish. 

First we will create the one blue bunny on the middle finger nail. Take a detail brush with white paint on it, this step is optional if you first want to make an outline, or you can always go straight in with polish. 

First make a small circle for it's head and then a little bit bigger one for it's body, then make two thick lines on the top of the small circle (it's head) that are rounded at the top for the two ears. Then let that dry and then you can go over that with polish, I used a blue polish ( OPI- My Pal Joey) for the bunny, you will need to go over this at least two times. Once again let that dry. 

Then we will make their little eyes and nose. With a small dotting tool with black paint on it make two dots on it's head for it's eyes and then another dot under that for it's nose. Peeps don't have a mouth, so that is all for their faces.

Next we will make the to smaller Peeps bunnies on the ring finger, for this nail just follow the same steps as we just did for the blue bunny, just make them smaller and two different colors, yellow and pink, and don't forget to make their eyes and nose too.

Lastly to finish off our Peeps design we will create half of the bunny on our thumb nail. Once again we will create an outline with white paint. With a detail brush with white paint on it make a circle near the cuticle and then make to long bunny ears from that circle, let that dry. Then go over that with a light purple polish three times (I used Zoya Mini- Leslie.)

Once that is dry we need to make his eyes and nose. With a medium size dotting tool with black paint on it make two eyes and a nose right under those two circles.   

For a final touch I made a few colored dots around the Peeps Bunnies that where the same color as the Peeps; light purple, yellow, pink, and blue.

Northern Lights Nail Design

Hello everyone! Today I thought it would fun to create a Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis nail design. For the longest I thought this was one of the coolest and prettiest natural wonders that happens in the world, and the one and probably only reason why I would want to visit a cold place like Alaska or any other place that you could see the Northern Lights. Also with it being winter I thought this would make a nice winter design as well.

Here are the polishes and nail art tools to create this natural wonder! 

  

Base coat and top coat- CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Polishes- Sinful Colors- Midnight blue and Revlon- Holographic Pearls- Transforming Effects.

Acrylic paint- White, black, blue, green, and purple.

Nail art brushes- thin stripper brush, and thin detail brush.

 

 

 Northern Lights Nail Design

As always start off with clean nails, that are free of old polish and apply a thin layer of base coat to all of your nails. 

Let that dry.

Once your base coat has dried polish all of your nails with a dark blue polish.

Then let that dry as well.

Now on to the Northern Lights design. This design is very abstract with a lot of random lines  and colors in the sky. For each nail I tried to make them each look different.

With a thin stripper brush with white paint it, on each nail you first start off with some solid white lines that are curved, then with a flat brush and the smallest amount of watered down white paint, take your flat brush on the line and push up on the line to create a kind of white light, that goes all the way down the line.

Then take a watered down purple, blue and green and place it on different parts/ small sections of the white that you just made. This should not be opaque it looks better kind of sheer, but I still had to go over this part as lest two times.  

After that you may need to go back over the white line that you made because it will get covered up by what you just did. 

Under your Northern Lights design/ the sky you can add some trees and mountains. On most of my nails I just added a few trees at the bottom, that where simple. With your stripping brush first make a long line for the tree trunk and then make small lines from the top, for the branches for your little trees.

On the thumb nail I did add three little mountains, which where just simple little triangles that I first made the outline with black and then added white on the inside. 

After the Northern Lights Design was finished, it seem like it was still missing something, so I tried applying a holographic top coat and it made this design so much better, the holo top coat give it a star like look to it, and just made this design look so much better and complete.

Once you have your Northern Lights design the way you like, apply a top coat to seal in your design and make it look even more shinny like the night sky.

Back to School- Nail Design

Hello everyone! It's that time of year again when kids and college students go back to school, yes I am a week or so late for this design that we will be doing today, but I thought it would still be okay to do. For the few years that I have been doing this blog I have never created a back to school themed nail design, so I thought I would this year. For this design we will be creating crayons on most of or nails and a pencil on our ring finger nail.

As always here are the polishes and nail art tools used for this back to school nail design:

Base and top coat- CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Polishes- Zoya- Renee- Redbook trio, Sally Hansen- Triple Shine- Play Koi, Sinful Colors- HD Nails, OPI- Hello Kitty- My Pal Joey, Sally Hansen- Triple Shine- Lemon Shark, Sinful Colors-Let's Meet (optional), and OPI Hawaii- Do you take Lei away 

Acrylic paint- white, yellow, black, and red. 

Nail art brushes-  detail and liner brushes, and a stripper brush.

Let get ready for back to school with this fun and colorful nail design!

Back to school nail design  

Start off with a thin layer of base coat to protect your nails. Then let that dry.

Once your base coat has dried polish your thumb red, index nail orange, middle finger nail green, ring finger nail blue, and pinky finger nail yellow (for the yellow I did use two yellows, a creme yellow then a shimmery yellow this optional, I just felt like do that.)  

Let your colored polish dry as well.

 

Back to school nail design 

For all of our nails except our ring finger nail we will be making crayons on them. First we will start off with the crayon design. On all of our nails except our ring finger nail we will be making the thick black strip that is on crayons. Take a stripping brush with black paint on it and make a line kind of in the middle of the nail, then with some space in between that line make another line. Then with a liner or detail brush fill that in with black paint.

Let that dry and then with what ever color your nails is make a squiggly line on the black strip, you will need to go over that one more time as well.  

Now you have some crayons on your nails.

 

 

 Back to school nail design 

Next on to the pencil on our ring finger nail. For this part I did first make an outline of the pencil with white paint, you don't have to do this I just did this to be on the safe side. 

Where the triangle part of the pencil is or where the lead is, fill that part in with black paint. Then the center part, with a peach colored polish and then the bottom part of the pencil with a yellow paint. For some smaller detail you can outline the pencil if you want to with black paint, and then make two or more long orange lines on the yellow part of the pencil.

Once you have your design the way you like apply a top coat to seal in your nails design, and to help your nails design to last all the way through your first and maybe even your first week of school.  

What was your favorite subject in school? My favorite subject was always art class, I have always enjoyed coloring, painting and drawing, so that was always my favorite class. My least favorite was math, I was never to good with numbers.

Showers Bring Sunflowers- Sunflower Nail Design

Hello everyone! Today we will be celebrating the warm/ nice weather that finally decided to stick around. We will be creating a sunflower nail design on our nails, which will be great for the spring or summer time.

  Sunflower Nail Design

Here are the nail polishes and nail art tools for this sunflower nail design. 

 

Base and Top coat- CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat. (same as always)

Nail polishes- NYC- Water street blue ( I don't think you can find this in the stores anymore, but you can always find this color in another brand), Sally Hansen- Hard as Nails - No hard feelings, and Sinful Colors- Frenzy.

Acrylic paint- white, yellow, blue, and red (yellow, blue, and red to make a brown colored paint)

Nail art brushes- two thin detailed brushes. 

Other- a small jar or cup to put water in, to clean off your nail art brushes. 

Let's start this Sunflower nail design!

Sunflower Nail Design

As all ways start off with a thin layer of base coat to protect your natural nails and to help your polish to last.

Then let that dry, then once that has dried polish your thumb, middle, and pinky nail with a ocean or water colored blue (I used NYC- Water street blue, I am not sure if NYC still makes nail polish, but you can always find this color in another brand.) On your index and ring finger nail polish those nails with a light purple (I used Sally Hansen- Hard as Nails - No hard feelings.) Also on the pinky nail I just polished some blue and purple glitter over the blue polish.

Let your base colors dry and then we will start to make our sunflowers. On all of the nails I made each sunflower a little bit different. On the thumb nail I made two half flowers, the index a half flower near the cuticle, the middle finger nail a whole flower, then a half flower near the tip of the nail and then on the ring finger nail I made a large half flower.

For all of the sunflowers you first start off with the center part of the flower. I mixed blue, yellow, and red to make a brown colored paint because I don't have a brown paint. For the half flower just make half a circle and fill that in and then make some yellow dots in the middle for the seeds.

For the petals I used two yellows, one yellow I just added some white paint to it to change it up some. To make the petals you just make triangle shapes, and switch between the two yellows for each petal.

Once you have your sunflowers the way you like apply a top coat to seal in your design and to help your design to last all spring and summer, or at lest a few days or a week.

A lot of time on my right hand I like to keep that design more simple. On my right hand I did the sunflower design on just my thumb and ringer finger and applied the blue and purple glitter on my index, middle, and pinky nails.

Safe In My Shell- Turtle Nail Design

Hello everyone! Sorry that once again I have gone missing for a few weeks, life has just been kind of stressful and allergy season has really been bad for me. Anyways for this week we will be creating a cute turtle nail design, this design is inspired by my favorite online T-shirt company TeeTurtles. They have the cutest mascot, a turtle and I thought it would be cool to create a turtle nail design inspired by their mascot.

Here are the polishes and nail art tools used for the cute turtle nail design:  

 

Base and Top Coat- CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Polishes- Colors by llarowe- Arturo, KBShimmer- Peridot- August Birthstone, OPI Hawaii- My Gecko Does Tricks, and Sinful Color- HD Nails.

Acrylic paint- black, green, and yellow.

Nail art brushes- thin detail brush and a stripper brush.

Other- small cup of water to clean off your nail art brushes.

Turtle shell nail design

As always start off with a thin layer of base to protect your nails and to help your polish to last. As always I used CND Stickey Base Coat, I love this base coat and don't want/ need to try any more base coats.

Let your base coat dry.

Once that has dried, we will polish our base colors, on your thumb,index, ring and pinky finger nail, polish that a light blue (I used Colors by llarowe- Arturo) and for your middle finger nail, polish that with a glittery green polish (I used KBShimmer- Peridot- August Birthstone.) Also for some reason the two KBShimmer birthstone polishes that I purchased a few years ago changed colors, which has never happen to any of my polishes.

Once your polishes has dried on to the fun part, the nail art. On the index and ring finger nail we will be create the turtle's shell. I used two different colored green polishes but you don't have to. On the index nail take a dark green polish (I used Sinful Color- HD Nails) and make a circle shape with the brush that is in the polish. Then if you would like, do the same thing with that same polish or a light green (I used OPI Hawaii- My Gecko Does Tricks) on the ring finger nail.

Let the green circles dry and then with black paint outline the circle, then in the middle you can create a diamond shape or a rectangle in the middle of the circle, then make four lines going from each corner of the diamond or rectangle out toward the circle.

Last but not least is the cute turtle on the thumb nail. Make a medium size circle in the middle of the nail for his head and fill that in twice to be fully opaque, then make an oval shape for his body fill in his tummy with yellow, them make two arms and two legs, then on his tummy make a checker board pattern. Then lastly make to black dots for his eyes and a curved line for his smile.

Under the Sea- Mermaid Nail Design

Hello everyone! Today we will be creating a fun design that would probably better for summer, but Halloween is coming up so maybe all of you could create this on your nails for Halloween. Anyways we will be create a mermaid inspired nail design, mermaids and unicorns have been a big thing this year, it seems like they are on everything, so I thought it would be cool to make mermaid scales on our nails.   

 

 Mermaid Nail Design

Here are the nail polishes and tools used for this mermaid nail design-  

 

Base and Top coat- - CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Nail polishes- Sinful Color- Gorgeous, Sally Hansen- Triple Shine- Make Waves (optional not needed, all you need really is one of these types of polishes), Revlon- blue mosaic,Color Club Halo's- Harp on, and KBShimmer- Blue- d Lines.

Acrylic paint- black and white.

Nail art brushes- small detail brush, very small thin detail brush.

Other- Small cup or glass jar with water in it to clean off nail art brushes.

Let's start this under water adventure to find a mermaid or even two. 

  

        Mermaid Nail Design

As always start off with a thin layer of base coat.

Once that has dried, on your thumb, index and pinky finger nail polish those nails with a shimmery blue/green polish (I used Sinful Colors- Gorgeous and for some reason to be extra I used Sally Hansen- Triple Shine- Make Waves, but really you only need one polish.)

For the mermaid scales on the middle and ring finger nail, polish the middle finger nail with a silver holographic polish, and then the ring finger nail with a blue holographic polish. I feel like using holo polish for the scales would be the best!

Once your base colors have dried we will make the scales. I did hand paint these on my nails which is much harder, but their is another option, their is mermaid scale nail vinyls that will make this design much easier. But today we will be creating this by hand. 

For the scales with a very thin nail art brush dipped into black paint, starting near the cuticle  make three upside down U's, then under that making sure that the next line of U's don't line up, and make another line of U's. Do this all the way down the nail. You can make the scales small (like I did) or big it is up to you.

Next we will create the seashell on the thumb nail. With a thin detail brush with white paint on it, first make a small rectangle near the cuticle area, then for the shell details make some long U shapes going in a circle for the shell shape. 

Once that has dried take your silver holo polish and fill in the shell, you can use the the brush that is in the bottle, you don't really need to use a nail art brush for this. Also you may need to go over the shell two times to be opaque. Also the outline you just made you most likely will have to go over that again because you cover it up when you filled in the shell with the silver holo polish. 

 

 Mermaid Nail Design

For the final touch on the index and pinky nails we will just polish a mermaid looking glitter polish, that has small and large blue glitter, and large silver and green glitter in it.  

Also on the thumb nail with the seashell, add a little of the same glitter around the shell as part of the background.

Once your mermaid nail design has dried apply a top coat to seal/ protect your design.
