Hello everyone! Happy Halloween! Today on the blog to celebrate Halloween we will be creating a cute ghost and pumpkin design. What are all of you doing for Halloween? I am not doing anything, I usually don't do anything, I just buy candy on my own and of course do some Halloween nail art, and that's pretty much it. If you are like me and have no plains for Halloween except maybe doing so nail art this tutorial may give you some inspiration.
Here are the nail tools used to create this cute Halloween design:
Base and top coat- China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat and CND Super Shiney Top Coat.
Nail polish- Wet N Wild- Glitter Orange, Holo Taco- Cat Duo- Zyler the Cat, Orly- Kelli's Galaxy Trio- Kelli's Anti- Matter, and Revlon- Rebel Graffiti.
Acrylic paint- Black, white, yellow, red (to make orange), green, and brown. Also mix red and white to make pink.
Nail art brushes- Thin detail, linear and striper brushes.
Other- Water to clean off nail art brushes.
Apply base coat to clean dry nails, and let that dry.
Polish-
Thumb- orange glitter polish (Wet N Wild- Glitter Orange, this is a old polish that I know they don't make anymore)
Index, middle, and pinky finger nails- a orange holo glitter polish (Holo Taco- Zyler the Cat)
Ring finger nail- a black polish with some blue in it, or you can use just a black polish ( Orly-Kelli's Anti- Matter)
Let that dry.
Ghost on the Index, Middle and Ring Finger Nails-
First we will start off with the ghost on the index, middle and pinky nails. Take a thin detail brush with white paint on it and make a circle near the cuticle, then make two arms on the side of that circle that are going up, and then make your ghost body by make two lines down from the arms that you just made and then at the bottom make a up side down W shape for his feet. You will need to fill in your ghost a few times to be opaque.
For the ghost eyes take a linear brush with black paint on it and make two circles for his eyes and fill that in, or you can always use a dotting tool to make the eyes. Then for this mouth make a small circle under the two eyes and fill that in.
If you would like you can also make some pink cheeks on your ghost to make them look even cuter, or you can leave your ghost as is. I did this on the index and pink nail ghost only.
If you decide to do the ghost design on the index, middle and pinky nails just repeat each step for each nail.
For a added touch you can add a black and white glitter on the orange background (Revlon- Rebel Graffiti)
Pumpkin on the Ring Finger Nail-
On the ring finger nail we will be making a pumpkin. For our base color of the pumpkin we will first need to make a white outline, due to the polish we pick as our base. Take a detail brush with white paint on it and make a oval in the middle of the nail, with a small square at the top for the steam, you will need to go over this a few times to be opaque.
Once that has dried you can now go over the white outline, with orange paint and green for the steam. You will need to go over this a few times to be opaque as well.
For the face make a curved line for the smile and then make two lines at the top of that curve for his teeth, and leave a small gap in between for a tooth.
For the nose and eyes make a small triangle above the mouth and then make two triangles above the nose for the eyes.
Ghost and Pumpkin on the Thumb Nail-
Lastly on the thumbnail, we will make a ghost and a pumpkin. The shape of the ghost will look a little weird at first because we are leaving some room to make a small pumpkin. Take a thin detail brush with white paint on it and make an oval for the head and make a curved line going down the nail and for the feet make two curved lines. On the other side of the ghost make a small hand and then fill in the part of the ghost that you just made with white paint.
For the small pumpkin make a small orange oval where the ghost hand is and right by the feet. Then follow the same steps that you just did for the pumpkin on the ring finger, just at a smaller scale and make the stem brown. Then once you have your pumpkin add another arm that is holding the pumpkin.
Lastly for the ghost face take a thin thin striper brush with black paint on it and make a curved line for the smile and then take a linear brush with black paint on it and make two ovals for the eyes.
Once again for the background you can add the black and white glitter to the orange background.
Once your nails are ready for all the treats, apply a top coat to seal in your design and to help it to last all Halloween, even if that means just seating at home eating to much candy and maybe watching a scary movie.
Practice Design- Boo It's Halloween!
Hope all of you enjoyed this Halloween design, and have a fun and safe Halloween!
See you next time for more nail fun!
