New Year, New Beginnings- New Year Nail Design

Hello everyone! Happy New Year, well almost New Year! I can't believe how fast this year has gone! This year has been another big year for me, with a new career choice deciding to become a professional/ licensed nail tech, going back to school again to get licensed, passing the state board test, and then getting a job in a salon. This year has defiantly brought some big changes! In the coming year, I hope for more awesome new adventures!

Anyways today to celebrate this New Year we will be creating a new year nail design, with silver, holo silver, and black nail polish and for a pop of color adding some rainbow glitter to the design. This design can be kind of hard because we will be painting words and numbers on the nail, don't worry I do have a easier alternative that I did on my right hand.

Happy New year 2017 Nail Design          Happy New year 2017!

Here are the polishes and nail art tools use for this design:

Base and top coat - CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Nail polishes- Sally Hansen- Hard as Nails- Black Heart, Sally Hansen- xtreme wear-Celeb city, Color Club Halo's- Harp on, Snowman rainbow glitter- frosty, and Color Club- Mini- Silver Glitter.

Nail art polishes- Kiss nail art polishes in black and silver.

Acrylic paint- black and white.

Nail art tools- a thin detail brush, a small dotting tool and nail art tape.

Other- a jar or cup with water in it to clean your nail art brushes, tweezers and small nail scissors, and a toothpick to place the glitter (not show in the photo above.)

Let's start this New Year off right, with a cool nail design!

Happy New year 2017 Nail Design

Start off with a base coat to protect your nails.
Once your base coat has dried, polish your thumb and pinky nail black, your middle and ring finger a glittery/ shimmery silver, and on your thumb a silver holographic. Also the black polish I used for this design  Sally Hansen- Hard as Nails- Black Heart is an awesome cheap black polish, that covers in one coat, the way it should be with a dark polish!

Happy New year 2017 Nail Design
Happy New Year design on the thumb nail.

Let's start off with the thumb nail. This part can be kind of hard, I found that if you first paint the words with white acrylic paint it makes it a little bit easier, that if you mess up you can just wipe off the paint. Once you have Happy New Year! on your nails let that dry and then if you would like, take a silver stripping polish and go over the words again. Then once that dries take a rainbow glitter and polish that on the nail to look like confetti.

Silver Holo, black, and rainbow glitter nail design on index nail.
Next we will make the design on the index nail. First make sure the silver holo is dry, then take three strips of nail art tape and staring from the corner of the nail, place them on the nail on a slant.
With your black thin nail art polish, fill in the top two areas that are taped off (like the photo above) and then with a regular black polish fill in the rest. I used the black stripper polish because it was easier to use a smaller brush near the top, that way you don't mess up that part with a thicker brush.
* Make sure to peel up the tape with tweezers right away, don't wait for the polish to dry!
Then take your black stripper polish and make two thin lines in the blank areas.
After that has dried take a toothpick and place your rainbow glitter at the top corner of the design for a pop of color.

2017 on middle and index nail
Another hard part is writing 2017 on the middle and index nail. Once again I found that using black paint to write 2017 made it much easier. Start off with 2 and then 0 on the middle finger nail, then 1 and 7 on the ring finger nail, try to make sure that all of the numbers line up.
Once your numbers have dried, polish your rainbow glitter all over the nails so that is also looks like confetti.

Dripping glitter on the pinky nail.

Lastly the easy part dripping sliver glitter. Take your dotting tool with the sliver glitter on it, first drag the dotting tool on the tip of the nail, then drag the glitter down the nail making some long and some short drips. You will need to re- dip your dotting tool in the silver glitter polish when making the drips.

 Happy New Year Nail Design!

Once your New Year design is New Years ready, or just dried apply a top coat to protect your nails and to help them last into the New Year.

Happy New year 2017 Nail Design, simple design
Other New Years Nail design on the right hand.
Was the first design a little to hard? Here is another option that incorporates some of the first design just made more simple.
On the index nail I did the same design as the pinky nail with a silver background and silver dripping glitter.
The middle and ring finger nail I used the nail art tape to make a simple design. You just place as many pieces of nail art tape as you would like, and starting from one corner on a slant. The middle finger nail I used four pieces and the ring finger nail I used three pieces.

Make sure to put extra top coat over the tape to make sure it sicks to the nails. I have ran into the problem of the tape not sicking well.

Than for an add touch just place some glitter in the corner where all the tape meets.
The pinky nails just polish some rainbow glitter over the black.
Happy New year 2017 Nail Design, simple design     Design on the other thumb nail
For the thumb nail this is the same design that is created on the index nail on my left hand. The thicker black part is just in the middle and the two thin lines are on the sides.

Above is the final design that I created on my right hand, this is a great option if writing Happy New Year! 2017 is a little to hard.

Hope all of you enjoyed this party ready or just sitting at home watching the ball drop on TV design.

See you next year for more nail fun!

The start of next year I have a collection that I am super excited to share with all of you, it is a collection based on one of my favorite movies, and of course a lot more fun nail art that we can try together or you can just look at and enjoy!

Have a fun and safe New Year 2017!

Snowy Christmas

Hello everyone! Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday's! Anyone have any fun plains for the holiday's? I'm am just doing the same old same old, just going to visit family near by, no fun trips for me, which would be awesome! Anyways today we will be creating a winter/ snowy Christmas scene,or this could just be a winter scene minus the Christmas trees.

Christmas Winter Nail Design
 Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Here are the polishes and nail art tools use for this design:

Base and top coat- Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat and CND Stickey Base Coat.

Nail Polishes- Zoya- Dream, Zoya- Urban Grunge- Alicia, Snowman rainbow glitter- frosty, and Funky Fingers- As If (for the stars in the polish.)

Acrylic paint- white paint

Nail art tools- a thin stripper brush

Other- a glass jar (or a cup) with water in it to clean off your nail art brush, and a toothpick to pick up the glitter.

Let's start this snowy Christmas design!

Christmas Winter Nail Design
Snow covered Christmas tree on the index finger nail.

As always start off with a thin layer of base coat to protect your nails.

Then paint all of your nails with a holographic or a glittery/ shimmery blue polish, I used Zoya Dream. This polish I thought went perfect for the winter snowy theme because the scattered holo looks like snow.

 Christmas Winter Nail Design
* For this design we will be creating it on three of the nails, the index, middle, and ring finger nail, the thumb and pinky nail will just stay plain blue, well holo blue.

Once that has dried, on the tips of the three nails app a sliver holographic or glitter shimmer polish, this is for the snow on the ground. I sponged this on but once I did that I felt like that was not completely necessary, you can just polish the silver part. You may need to go over this three time to be opaque enough.

Once that has dried we will start to make our trees. On the ring and index finger nail we will make one large tree on the sides of the nail. On the middle we will make two trees a medium and a small size tree next to each other.

For all of the trees with white acrylic paint and a stripper brush make a long line, then small arrow lines starting from the top, each smaller line should be just a little bit longer then the last line to form a tree. On each of those lines I put a few smaller lines on the ends to give it kind of a pine tree look to it.

Christmas Winter Nail Design
Snow covered Christmas tree on the ring finger nail.

Once that has dried, the trees on the index and ring finger nail we will make into Christmas trees. This is done by taking a rainbow glitter polish, and with a toothpick picking out the glitter polish, just a few pieces and placing them on the tree like ornaments.

Now to add the star on top. If you have a glitter polish with stars in it you can place it on top of the tree just like the ornaments, by fishing it out of your polish with a toothpick.  If you don't have a polish with star glitters in it, you can always use the same glitter that you placed on the tree.

Christmas Winter Nail Design
Snow covered tress on the middle finger nail.

For your middle finger nail design, you can leave this one with no glitter ornaments or you can have all of your trees be decorated, it is up to you.

Once everything has tried apply a top coat to protect and seal in your design.

Christmas polishes- Zoya Amal, Merida and Alicia

The Christmas colored polishes on my right hand

Just for fun on my right hand I decided to keep things simple and just paint my nails with some Christmas colored polishes. If you have trouble painting a design on your other hand this can also be an alternative to doing a design, or if you just fell like doing a design on one hand, and who cares if your nail don't really match that's the fun part about doing your nails!

Here are the polishes I used on my right hand Zoya- Amal- Matte Velvet (I applied a glossy top coat for a shinny look.), Zoya- Urban Grunge- Merida, and Zoya- Urban Grunge- Alicia (as an accent nail.)

Hope all of you have a wonderful Holiday/ Christmas! No matter what Holiday you celebrate hope it a great one and filled with bright and fun nails! Also of course enjoy time with all of your families and friends!

See you next time for more nail fun!

Zoya Enchanted Winter 2016

Hello everyone! Hope everyone is enjoying this winter weather we are having, well if you live in an area where all of a sudden it snowed a lot. I personally don't like all this snow, I am a summer girl that love warm weather, snow was much more fun when we where kids and could have snow days. Anyways today we have another review of some more Zoya polishes, from their holiday collection. Last week we did a review of the Urban Grunge fall and winter collection, if you miss that make sure to check that post out after this one.

Zoya Enchanted Collection 2016
This collection has six polishes, four Pixie Dust polishes which is their texture polish, and two shimmer polishes. I only purchased two of their polishes and Zoya also sent me their swatch acrylic tray with all of the polishes swatched as well.

Zoya Saint
 Zoya Saint

First we have Saint this is described as a periwinkle blue with a pink/ magenta shift or shimmer. Like most Zoya polish this went on smooth, this polish was kind of sheer on the first coat, and it did take three coat to get be fully opaque. I always find it best to apply any polish thin even if it takes an extra coat to be fully opaque.

If you would like to purchase this polish here is the link-

Zoya Alice
   Zoya Alice

Next we have Alice this is one of their Pixie Dust textured polishes. This polish is another periwinkle that is more on the purple side with some blue shimmer in it, with more thicker glitter in it then the other Pixie Dust polishes, this is also described as a matte sparkle formula. Some of their Pixie Dust polishes have more of a matte look then other, this one is more shimmery. This applied pretty smooth for a texture polish, it was kind of sheer on the first coat but on the second coat it was opaque.

They do say for the textured polishes to not wear a top coat for the full textured effect, but I always do. The top coat I always use Revlon extra life no chip top coat is a kind of thin top coat so it still leaves that texture feeling to the nails. If you don't want that you can always apply a thicker top coat.

 Zoya Enchanted collection swatches

As stated above I only purchased two out of the six polishes. Above are swatches of the other polishes

Other Pixie Dust polishes:
Elphie is a emerald green with green shimmer in it.
Lorna is a berry purple with shimmer in it.
Waverly is a deep sapphire blue with blue shimmer.

All of the Pixie Dust listed above are described as a sugary sparkle matte formula. They all appear to be shimmery to me with a sugary texture.

Shimmer polish:
Olivera is a metallic indigo and green with a purple shift. This polish leans more toward a dark green to me.

Like these polishes here is the link to purchase them:
Zoya Enchanted Collection each polish retails for $10 each

Like the collection? You can also purchase all of the polishes in a set.

Final Thoughts:
As for the two polishes that I did purchase I loved both of them, which is no surprise I love all of Zoya's polishes that I have purchased. The Pixie Dust polishes are very nice, if you remember a few years back textured polishes where a big trend for a little bit, and I have always liked the textured polishes I thought that they where kind of cool. Zoya is know to have really good textured polishes with their Pixie Dust line.

As for the colors in this collection they are not really the colors that you think of when it comes to the holidays like your reds, greens (well their is 2 greens in this collection), golds, silvers, you know the typical Holiday/ Christmas colors. Which I think is good and a nice change. I also think that the holo polishes that where in the Urban Grunge collection, would have made a nice holiday collection as well, the Urban Grunge collection was part of their winter collection so I guess that fits too.

Don't forget to check out the review on the M.M.M Urban Grunge polishes as well.

Hope all of you enjoyed this review of the Zoya Enchanted Collection for Holiday 2016.

See you next time for more nail fun!
Next week their will be a design that will be great for Christmas
