Light Of My Life- Christmas Lights Design

Hello everyone! Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday's, today we will be creating another Christmas nail design, last week we made candy canes on our nails, for this week we will make Christmas lights on our nails. I was planning on doing one more Christmas nail design, then I realized that this Monday is Christmas, so I will only be doing these two designs.

Christmas Light Nail Design

Here are the polishes and nail art tools used for this nail design:

Base and top coat - CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Nail polishes- Emily De Molly- Everlasting Gaze, Cirque- Madder, Color Club Halo's- Harp on, Zoya- Dream, and Zoya- Urban Grunge-Merida.

Acrylic paint- white and black

Nail art brushes- two small thin detail brushes.

Other- small jar with acetone to clean off brushes and a small cup of water to also clean off brushes.

Let's start this bright and festive nail design!

Christmas Light Nail Design

Start off with a thin layer of base coat.

Let your base coat dry, then polish a turquoise green holographic polish on your nails, I used  a new polish that I just purchased not to long ago called Emily De Molly- Everlasting Gaze.

One your base polish has dried we wills start to make the Christmas lights on all of the nails. Take a thin detail brush, with black paint on it (I used two different once, one for just paint and the other for polish.) Start on the thumb and going all the way to the pinky nail make a squiggly line, on one nail I did add a loop.

After you make the squiggly lines, make some small squares to hold the bulbs in place, on each nail I made two to three small squares.

 Christmas Light Nail Design

Then for the bulbs I first made the shape with white paint and then went over that with different colored polishes, once the white paint had dried. Also make sure to make attach the bulbs to the small squares. I used a red, green, blue and silver polish, you can use the same colors or different ones it is up to you, I just thought I would go with some Christmas type colors.

Just for some small detail, once your bulbs have dried you can make small white line to show a reflection of light on the bulbs, this is optional if you want to skip this step that is okay, I just did this for more detail.

Once your bright and colorful Christmas light nail design has dried apply a top coat to seal in your design and to make it even more shinny, to where it all most looks like it will light up.

Hope all of you enjoyed this bright and colorful Christmas light nail design!

Have a wonderful Christmas/ Happy Holiday and a safe and Happy New Years!

See you next time for more nail fun!

Candy Cane Lane

Hello everyone! Hope all of you are enjoying the winter weather, if you live in a cold environment like myself. If you are anything like me then, no you are not enjoying the cold snowy weather. Anyways seeing how Christmas is quickly approaching, this week we will be making candy canes on our nails, and not just any candy cane with plain white polish and plain red, we will be using a silver and red polish with some holo in it, because what better way then to use holo polish, besides it looks more festive.

Candy Cane Nail Design
 Candy Cane Nail Design

Here are the polishes and tools used for this festive nail design, and yes this design only needs a few things!

Base and Top coat- CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.
Nail polishes-  OPI Holiday 2017- Ornament to Be Together and Cirque- Madder.
Nail art tools- just some nail art tape.
Other- scissors and tweezers to take off the tape (Items not show above)
That's all you need!
Let's get this fun and yummy candy cane nail design started!
Candy Cane Nail Design
Candy Cane Nail Design
Start off with a thin layer of base coat, my fav is CND Stickey base coat.
Let that dry, then polish all of your nails with a silver polish that has some holo in it. The polish I used is Ornament to Be Together from OPI, this polish is part of their new holiday collection for 2017. This silver polish has a subtle amount of holo in compared to most holos that I have.
Once your base color of silver has dried, take your nail art tape and cut it into small pieces and place them on an angle on the nail, so that it will look like a candy cane.
Candy Cane Nail Design

At the tip of the nail, polish that area with a red holo polish, then the next area leave that silver. Repeat this for each part, to where every other part is red (as shown in the photo above.)
Grab your tweezers and right away, make sure your red polish does not dry and peel off the nail art tape that you placed on the nails. Doing this right away will help to keep your lines looking clean and straight.

Repeat all of the steps above for all of your nails, or on my other hand I did things a little different.

If you only want a few nails with the candy cane design on it you can just do the design on two nail, the thumb and ring finger nail (like the photo above), or even just as a accent nail, the ring finger nail.

Once you have your candy cane nails the way you like, apply a top coat to seal in your design and to make your holo candy canes even more shinny.

Hope you enjoyed this simple holiday nail design!

Next week we have another Christmas nail design!

Galaxy Far Away- Galaxy Nail Design

Hello everyone! Today I kind of wanted to recreate a design that I have done before, but change it up a little, that design is the galaxy design. I have been wanting to recreate this design on it's own for a while now, and I final got a chance to do it. I did a similar design like this one, it was a Star Wars design that had a galaxy design in it. For this design it will just be the galaxy no Star Wars, but if you would like to incorporate that in this design for the new movie you can do as well.

Galaxy Nail Design
Galaxy Nail Design

Also here is the link to my Star Wars Galaxy design May force be with you- Star Wars Nail Design

Here is the polishes and nail art tools used for this galaxy design, for this recreation I did use some different and some of the same polishes:

Base and Top coat- CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Nail Polishes- Sally Hansen- Hard as Nails- Black Heart, Zoya- Urban Grunge- Alicia (used on left hand), OPI Holiday 2017- Ornament to Be Together (used on right hand), Zoya- Dream, Zoya- Urban Grunge- Finley, and Cover Girl- Boundless color- Disco dazzle.

Acrylic paint- white

Nail art tools- Small dotting tool, very small detail brush, makeup sponge

Other- small cup or jar with water in it to clean of brushes

Let's start this out of this world nail design!

Galaxy Nail Design
Galaxy Nail Design
Galaxy Nail Design, left hand

Start off with a thin layer of base coat.

As soon as that is dry on all of your finger except your ring finger nail, polish your nails black, then the ring finger nail, polish that with a holo blue polish. On my right hand I polished the ring finger nail with a purple holo polish.

Once again let that dry, On our thumb, index, middle, and pinky finger nails we will be creating a galaxy. For this you will need a makeup sponge, I cut my sponge into small pieces for this step.

Take a silver holo polish for my left hand I used Zoya- Alicia and my right hand I used OPI- Ornament to Be Together. (This is optional because in the end you really can't tell the different.) Take one of these silver holo polishes, polish it on the sponge then in any random spots sponge on the polish. For example on the middle finger I sponge the silver in the middle and a little on the tip of my nail on the corner.

Next take another small piece of sponge polish that with the blue holo polish and sponge that on to one of the sides of the silver. For the purple do the same thing but on the other side of the silver.

For each nail it is best to sponge on the polish in a different spot, that way each nail looks different.
 Galaxy Nail Design

 Galaxy Nail Design, right hand

Once that has dried, take a glitter polish that has small and big glitter pieces and polish that on all of your galaxy nails. This will represent some stars.

For the final touch we will paint some stars on to the nails. Take your very small brush with white paint on it and make a few random X's on the nails, not to many, at most I did three to four little X's for stars. Then take a very small dotting tool and make some random dots as well, making sure not to make to many.

Once you have your galaxy design the way you liked, apply a top coat to all of your nails to help protect your nails and make your galaxy nice and shinny.

Hope all of you enjoyed this galaxy nail design!

Another Live Love Polish Review

Hello everyone! Today on the blog we will be doing yet another Live Love Polish review. It has been a while since we last did a Live Love Polish review, actually last year. I purchased four polishes way back in August and just got around to wearing all of them, and of course they are all holo (holographic).

Live Love Polish is an online company based in New York City, that sales (mostly) indie brand polishes, which means that they are going to cost a little more, but I feel like if they are unique enough then it is worth it, and of course I always wait for some kind of sale and discount code.

Cupcake Polish- Queen Frostine, Femme Fatale- Pride Must Suffer Pain,Cupcake Polish- Lord Licorice, and Fun Lacquer- How Deep is your Holo- Simplynailogical.

Okay let take a look at these beauties!

 Cupcake Polish- Queen Frostine
 Cupcake Polish- Queen Frostine
 Cupcake Polish- Queen Frostine

Let's start off with my favorite this beauty, Cupcake Polish- Queen Frostine from the Candyland collection. This polish is described as a bright blue jelly based polish with silver holo glitter in it. It applies in two coats, it is a little on the thick side, but still has a pretty good formula.

This polish OMG looks amazing on the nails in regular light and ten time more amazing in sunlight, I could not stop looking at my nails when I had this polish on.

cupcake polish- queen frostine $15.00 Unfortunately as of when I typed up this post this polish is not in stock, but Live Love restocks often, so it should be back in no time.

Cupcake Polish- Lord Licorice

Next we have Cupcake Polish- Lord Licorice from the Candyland collection, the red version of Queen Frostine. This is another jelly based polish, that is a bright red with silver holo glitter in it. The formula was the same as the blue version it was a little thick, but still applied well in two to three coats.

This polish also was very pretty, but for some reason the blue one was my favorite, I know why, blue is my favorite color that's why, even though this was pretty much the same polish.

This one is available on Live Love Polish.com (yeah!)

Femme Fatale- Pride Must Suffer Pain, cold and warm
Femme Fatale- Pride Must Suffer Pain, cold and warm

For our next polish we have a thermal polish called  Femme Fatale- Pride Must Suffer Pain from the Little Mermaid collection. This polish is super cool due it being a thermal polish, which means it turns color if your hands are cold or warm. If your hands are warm then the polish will be a light blue and if your hands are cold then the polish will be purple. No matter what temp your hands are this polish does have some scatter holo and some blue/ green shifting flakes.

This polish has a good formula that applied in two coats, the first coat was a little sheer but builts up well. For the most part the polish stayed light blue because of my hands being warm, so if your hands are warm then it will mainly stay light blue.

I also really liked this polish as well, it is like having a two for one in one polish, which is awesome.

P.S. Sorry that in some of my photo's my hands are dripping wet, I had to dunk them in ice water, then hot water quickly to take the photos, before they deiced to change colors again.

This polish unfortunately I can not find on Live Love's website or on anther side. But their are some other really pretty thermals on Live Love's website.

Femme Fatale- Pride Must Suffer Pain was $14.00.

Fun Lacquer- How Deep is your Holo- Simplynailogical
Fun Lacquer- How Deep is your Holo- Simplynailogical
Fun Lacquer- How Deep is your Holo- Simplynailogical

Last but far from least is Fun Lacquer- How Deep is your Holo from the Simplynailogical collection. This polish was created in collaboration with Cristine from Simplynailogical, she is a YouTuber that does nail art, some funny nail type video's, and she of course loves the holo.

The collection has three polishes with two different formula's, the regular holo polishes that has just a clear base with holo glitter and the H version (which I have) that has holo pigment added to create a sparkly finish.

How Deep is your Holo is a bright blue glitter bomb with a lot of holo glitter in it.

For this polish they recommenced you apply it different from other polishes, by first polishing on the first coat, then with a makeup sponge dab on the next coat, then do a very thin final coat. Also it is best to apply two coats of top coat. When it came to dabbing this polish I recommend that you use the full piece of sponge, I made the mistake of just using a small part, and that might have been why this polish went on a little thick.

I once again really liked this one as well, it is very pretty and looks great in the bright sunlight. The only thing was it did seem thick once it was on the nails, which was probably how I applied the polish with a small piece of sponge, which I will try next time with a larger piece.

Once again this one is sold out on Live Love's website, but keep an eye out for this one it has come back into stock many times.

Live Love Polish
Live Love Polish

I also just wanted to include a few photos of the box that the polishes come in, the box has changed it is smaller and the design has changed as well. Before the box was a little bigger and the logo was a cute polish bottle, which I liked better because I like cute things, as for the box I don't mind it being smaller. Even though the box has gotten small the packaging is very good like before (the same just smaller.) Your polishes are in a foam protected packaging, and your polishes will not move.

In conclusion the few times that I have purchased from Live Love Polish I have always really enjoyed the polishes that I have purchased, this was no exception. I would have to say my most favorite of the bunch would have to be Cupcake Polish Queen Frostine, this polish just looked so amazing and is my favorite color.

Hope all of you enjoyed this really long post, with lots of photos!

Also make sure to check out live love polishes website for some more pretties. https://www.livelovepolish.com/

Crisp Fall Day- Fall Nail Design

Hello everyone! Hope everyone is having a nice fall, I know in the area I live, it seem like it just started to fell like fall. Fall is not really my favorite time of the year because it is staring to get cold and for nail polish colors as well. The only nice thing about fall is when all of the leaves change color, it looks kind of pretty. So for today's nail design we will incorporate the nice part about fall with some fall colors, along with a cute fox.

Fall Nail Design
  Fall Nail Design

Here are the polishes and nail art tools we will use for this design:

Base and Top coat - CND Stickey Base Coat and  Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Nail polishes- Revlon- Gold Coin and Zoya- Marjorie- Redbook Trio.

Acrylic paint- black, white, blue, red, green, and yellow.

Nail art tools- thin detail brush, thin linear brush, small detail brush, and a medium size dotting tool.

Other- cup of water to clean off your nail art brushes.

Let's start this fall nail design, that will be great for a crisp fall day!

Fall Nail Design  Fall Nail Design

As always start off with a thin layer of base coat.

Once your base coat has dried polish your thumb, middle, and ring finger nail with a gold polish. Then polish your index and pinky nail with a burgundy or plum colored polish.

Let that dry, then we will make some leaves on our middle and ring finger nail. Starting with our ring finger nail, with a thin detail brush with brown paint on it (if you don't have brown paint mix yellow, red and blue to make brown) make a large leaf shape with two points on each side and one in the middle. Once that dries paint over that with red and orange paint.

For the three yellow leaves, first make the shape with white paint, that way it will show up.Then go over that with yellow paint and some orange as well.

Near the cuticle make another leave, this leaf will be red and orange.

Just for an added touch make a few small different colored dots that are together, with your dotting tool.

*For this design I actually found that is looked kind of better if you didn't wipe off your brush between colors, it kind of helps the fall leave colors to blend together.*

Fall Nail Design
 Fall Nail Design

On to the middle finger nail,we will make some more fall leaves. For this design the leaves will be on some branches. Make a few random brown lines for the branches. Then make some different leaf shapes on the branches, I made five leaves, some where the same shape other where different. Just like the ring finger nail go over the leaves a few times to make them multiple colors. Also once again add some colorful dots on the branches.

Fall Nail Design, Fox
Cute fox on the thumb nail

Next we will make the cute fox on the thumb. I always like to make the characters on the thumb nail because of this nail being the largest nail and their being more space to create.
For the shape of the fox, we will first start off by making the outline with white paint. Make a large circle for his head, then his body, and the on the side a half of his tail. For the white part of the fox's face make that part more of an opaque white.

Once the white outline has dried go over the top of the head, body, and tail with orange paint. For his face make a black oval for this nose in the middle and then two circles for his eyes. Then on his ears make two brown triangles.Near the cuticle make to brown circles for his paws. On his tail paint just the tip white.

The fox I was a little afraid it was going to look a little like a cat, but is ended up turn out just right and super cute.

Fall Nail Design
 Practice fall nail design

Sometimes I like to share my practice version of my nail design. I really liked how this one turned out and thought it was worth sharing. The fox I ended up doing twice and the second time (shown about) turned out good, and turned out well in the final design as well.

Once you have your cute fall nail design the way you like, apply a top coat to protect your nails and to help them last through this crisp fall weather.

Hope all of you enjoyed this cute fox and fall leave nail design. I really was happy with how cute the fox turned out for this design!

Also hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving (which is quickly approaching, next week!)

See you next time for more nail fun!
