How Despicable- Minion Nail Design

Hello everyone! I don't know about all of you but I am super excited about a certain movie that just started today Friday, June 30! If you have been checking out this blog for a while or know me personally then you know I love minions. That why when I found out their was going to be another Despicable Me movie, I just had to create another minion nail design for all of you.

Despicable Me, Minions Nail Design
Minions Nail Design

Here are the nail polishes and nail art tools used for this minion nail design:

Base and Top Coat - CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Nail polishes- Sally Hansen- Triple Shine- Lemon Shark, China glaze- white on white, Sally Hansen- Hard as Nails- Black Heart, and Zoya- Estelle.

Acrylic paint- Black and white.

Nail art tools- two thin detail brushes, and nail art tape (not shown in the photo above)

Other- glass jar with acetone for cleaning nail art brushes and a cup of water for cleaning nail art brushes, and tweezers to pull up the nail art tape.

For this minion nail design I decided to go with the whole theme of good/ bad minion. In the previews of the movie I have seen that the minions go to jail for some reason, that's why I thought that would a good theme.

Let's start this Despicable design!

Despicable Me, Minions Nail Design

As always start off with a thin layer of base coat.

Once that has dried, polish your thumb, index, middle, and ring finger nail yellow. Then polish your pinky finger nail white.

Then once the yellow and white polish has dried, we will start the minion part of this design.
On the thumb and middle finger we will create the bad minions with his black and white striped jail outfit. Then on the index and ring finger we will create the good minions with their blue overalls.

For all of the minions near the tip of the nails make a square in the middle, with some of the yellow still showing on the sides. Also on top of the square make a long line that goes all the way around the nail.

For the bad minions fill in the square with white paint or polish, then for the good minions polish that part blue.

Now on to the minions eyes or eye. For all of the minions make a thick black line in the middle of the nail for their goggles.

On the thumb and index finger nail, the minions have two eyes and the middle and ring finger nails they have one eye. For all of the eyes or eye mix a black and white paint together to make a grey (unless you already have a grey paint), then make one or two large circles for their eyes, this is for the start of their goggles

Once that has dried make a smaller white circle in the grey circle. For the good minions make a smaller black circles in the white circles.

For the bad minions we will make them look mad, take a yellow polish and make eyelids for the minions, by just making a line above their eyes and filling in the top part with yellow polish. After that make a small black circles for their pupils.

For the good minions make a smile under their eyes or eye. Then for the bad minions make a straight line for a more evil/ mad looking minion.

To finish the bad minions we need to add their jail outfits, by just adding thick black stripes to the white square.

Now you are finished with your minions. I wanted to have an even number of minions, so on the pinky finger nail I just created black and white stripes. You can do this by take two thin pieces of nail art tape and placing them next to each other, I made three rows for the stripes.

Then polish right over the tape with black polish, then right away (don't let the polish dry!) take some tweezers and pull off the tape.

Once you are happy with your Despicable, Minion nail design apply a top coat to protect and seal in your nail design.

Are you just a bad minion? Usually I do another design on my other hands that is a little more simple (maybe?) On my right hand, I did the bad minions on my thumb, middle and ring finger and polished my index nail black and did the same black and white stripe design on the pinky finger nail.

Hope all of you enjoyed this minion Despicable Me nail design, along with the movie. I'm sure I will enjoy the movie as much as I enjoyed the other ones, along with creating this design that I shared with all of you.

This is not the first time that I have created a minion nail design, after this post you can also check out that nail design as well.

Watermelon Yum- Watermelon Nail Design

Hello everyone! Hope everyone is enjoying this all of a sudden really hot weather, well if you live in the area that I am from, I'm not to sure about other areas. Anyways when you think of really hot weather or summer time you may think of going to the beach or having a picnic. When it comes to fruit, a nice refreshing fruit might come to mind like watermelon, which I actually don't like the way watermelon taste (I know weird), but I thought this would be a cute design to create for this time of year.

Here are the nail polishes and nail art tools used for this design:

Base and top coat - CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Nail polish- OPI- Hello Kitty- 5 Apples Tall, OPI Hawaii- My Gecko Does Tricks, and Sinful Color- HD Nails.

Acrylic paint- White and black

Nail art tools- medium dotting tool and two thin detail brushes.

Other- small glass jar with acetone in it to clean nail art brushes, and a cup with water in it to clean off nail art brushes.

Let's start this refreshing watermelon nail design!

 Watermelon Nail Design

As always start off with a thin layer of base coat to protect your nails.

Once your base coat has dried polish your thumb, middle and ring finger nail a watermelon red or a red color that kind of looks like it would close to a watermelon color. Your index and pinky finger nail polish that green.

Once your base colors of red and green have dried, we will start to make our nails look like watermelons. We will first start off with the inside of the watermelon on the thumb, middle, and ring finger nail.

Take the same green polish that you used on your index and pinky nail, and paint the tip of your nails, kind of like a french manicure.

Once that has dried we will paint the white part of the watermelon. I used acrylic paint for this, that way I could keep trying to fix the line and build up the white, but you can always use a white polish as well. Also for this part I would say it would be best to use nail art tape to try and get the line to be even, which I had issues with and didn't think of until I was finished with this design.

For the white part take a thin detail brush with white paint or polish and make a thick line above the green part. If you use nail art tape place two piece of the tape, one on the top near your green tip and then leave some space, then add another piece and then fill that in with white paint or polish, then right away take off the nail art tape.

Next we will make the seeds, take a medium size dotting tool with black paint or polish on it and make three dots, then with a thin detail brush make a thin line from each dot.

Now on to the outside of the watermelon, on your index and pinky finger nail. Take a thin detail brush with a darker green polish on it and make a few squiggly lines, you may need to go over the lines another time to make sure they are fully opaque. Depending on your nail size you can make three or more or less lines, I ended up making three lines.

Once you have finished your yummy watermelon nail design apply a to coat to seal in your design and help it to last through your summer picnic.

Hope all of you enjoyed this watermelon nail design!

Act Like a Lady- Ladybug Nail Design

Hello everyone! Sorry it has been a few weeks since I did a post, I have been busy. I just recently, well about a month ago started working in another salon (which is much better and I like working at) and I now work five days a week, and usually on my days off I do my nails and do a blog post, but on Sunday's lately I have been busy. Even though I work in a nail salon I still want to continue to share my nail designs with all of you and plus I really enjoy it as well. Anyways today we will be creating a cute ladybug design, that will be great for spring time going into summer.

Here are the polishes and nail art tools used for this design:

Base and Top coat - CND Stickey Base Coat and  Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Nail polishes- Finger paints- Cubism Crimson, Sally Hansen- Hard as Nails- Black Heart, and Essie- Coconut Cove.

Acrylic paint- black, green, and red.

Nail art tools- large dotting tool, two detail nail art brushes.

Other- small jar with acetone in it to clean off your brushes, and a cup of water to also clean off your brushes.

Let's start this very lady like nail design!

Ladybug Nail Design

First start off with a thin layer of base coat to protect your nails.

Once that has dried polish all of your nails red, except for the ring finger nail polish that nail white.

Then once your base colors have dried we will start off with the black spots that are on the ladybugs shell or wings. This is the most simplest part and will be done on the index, middle and pinky finger nails.

First we will make larger dots, with a thin detail brush with black paint make three or more (depending on your nail length you can add more or less spots) large circles.

Then with a large dotting tool fill in some of the area with smaller dots, make sure not make to many dots, leave some of the red showing. The dots can be done with either black paint or polish, I used black paint.

Small ladybug on the ring finger nail-

Next we will make the small ladybug on the ring finger nail. First make make a green line near the tip of your nail, with green acrylic paint, for the branch or leaf that your lady bug will be on.

Then for the ladybug herself first make a small red circle near the side of your nail (I used red acrylic paint to start off), and over the green line you just made. For the head make a small black circle with black paint.

Once the red part of her body is dried, you can also go over that red with the same red polish that you painted your four nails with, or you can always just start off with the red polish.

Now all you need to do is add four little lines for the legs and two antennas on top of her head.

Then once the red polish for her body is dried, just make a black line down the center of her shell and then add a few small black dots.

Ladybug Nail Design
Ladybug design on the thumb nail

Lastly we will be make a larger ladybug on the thumb nail. First with a thin detail brush with black paint or polish make a arch half way up the nail near the tip of the nail, then fill in that part with black polish.

Then with a detail brush with more black paint on it make a line down the center of the nail.

With a large dotting tool and black paint or polish on it make some black dots on the red part of the ladybugs shell.

With that same clean dotting tool and white paint make to eyes on the black arch part. Once that has dried put to black dots in the middle of the white dots.

Once you have finished your ladybug nail design and have let is dry apply a top coat to protect your nails and to help your cute design to last.
