Wonderful Christmas- Christmas Nail Design

Hello everyone! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I don't know about all of you but I can't believe that it is almost Christmas, time has been going by so fast! I remember when I was growing up I would count down the days until Christmas and it seem like it always to forever, now days it goes by so fast. Anyways today we have another Christmas nail design; with a Christmas tree, some holly, a gingerbread man, and some ornaments.

Christmas Nail Design Christmas Nail Design

As always here are the polishes and nail art tools used to create this cute Christmas design:

Base and top coat - CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Nail polishes- China Glaze The Grinch collection, Kiss nail art stripper- Silver, and Funky Fingers- As If (for just the star glitter.)

Acrylic paint- white, green, yellow, red, black, and brown.

Nail art tools-  large dotting tool, thin detail brush, and thin stripper brush.

Small cup or jar of water to clean off nail art brushes.

Start off with a thin layer of base coat to protect your nails and to help your design to last.

Let that dry.

For our base color we will be using the polishes from the China Glaze Grinch collection. On your thumb nail polish that nail a glittery green, and a rainbow glitter over that when it is dry, the index nail a light glittery blue, your middle and pinky finger nail a glittery red, and your ring finger nail a glittery gold.

Let that dry.

Christmas tree Ornaments-

Then on to the nail art, we will first start off with the ornaments on the two tree branches on the index nail. Take a thin stripper brush with a light green paint and make two long thin lines, starting from the cuticle. Then make some small lines from the larger lines (kind of like a palm tree branch), after that take a darker green and make some small lines next to the light green lines.

For the ornaments I first made the circle with white paint and then went over the circles with two different polish colors, a pink with a iridescent shimmer over that, and then a purple polish.

Then you just add two small sliver line from the branches to the ornaments.

Christmas Holly-

Next we will creating holly on the middle and pinky finger nail, this design is very simple. Just take a dotting tool with red paint on it and make two or three dots near the cuticle, then make a two long lines with green paint, coming from each side of the red berries, and then make four small lines for the leaves.

Gingerbread Man-

Now on to the gingerbread man on the ring finger nail. First make outline of the gingerbread man with brown paint, make a circle for his head, two arms and two legs, you will need to go over this a few time to be opaque.

Then with your large dotting tool make to eyes and then two dots on his chest for the buttons, and then make a small curved line under his eyes for his smile.

Also if you would like you can outline your gingerbread man with black, this is hard to do, but seems to always make the design look better.

My gingerbread was a little deformed, but he sill turned out cute and really when you make cookies that don't turn out perfect.

 Christmas Tree-

On the thumb nail when I had used the glittery green and rainbow glitter together for the review of the Grinch polishes, I thought this would look cool just making an outline of a Christmas tree because the colors together remind me of a Christmas tree. So that is what we will be doing on the thumb nail.

Take a thin stripper brush with black paint on it and make a Christmas tree shape, and then take a polish that has star shapes and place it on top of the tree or you can paint a star on top of your tree.

Once you have your Christmas nail design the way you like, apply a top coat to seal in your design and to help it last until Christmas.

Reindeer Games- Christmas Nail Design

Hello everyone! I don't know about all of you, but I can't believe it's all ready almost Christmas! I literally was just doing fall design (I was a little behind on fall designs, so maybe that's way.) For today we will be creating a Christmas nail design, with everyone's favorite reindeer, Rudolph, along with some Christmas trees.

Christmas Nail Design, Rudolph and Christmas Trees
Christmas Nail Design, Rudolph and Christmas Trees

Here are the polishes and nail art tools used for this Holiday/ Christmas nail design:

Base and top coat- CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Nail polishes- Finger paints- Tiffany imposter, Zoya- Estelle, Snowman rainbow glitter- frosty, Funky Fingers- As If, and China glaze mini- Grinch- Lukewarm Wishes

Acrylic paint- Green, white, red, black, brown, peach.

Nail art brushes-  Thin detail brush, stripper brush, liner brush, small flat brush and a very small detail brush. (not sure why I used so many brushes?)

Small cup of water to clean off nail art brushes.

Let's start this reindeer game!

Christmas Nail Design

First start off with a thin layer of base coat over your clean nails, then let that dry.

Then polish your thumb, index, and ring finger with a light blue (I used Finger paints- Tiffany imposter) then once that light blue has dried to add a shimmer to the blue I applied China Glaze- Grinch- Lukewarm Wishes. Then on the middle and pinky finger nail polish those nails with dark shimmery blue (I used Zoya- Estelle).

Let that dry.

Christmas Nail Design

Once your polish has dried we will make our little trees on the index and ring finger nails. For the tree this is suppose to be done by the one stroke method, where you would dip your flat brush into green first and then white, then begin to paint your tree. Well that was not working out for me, so we will do this a little different.

On a small flat brush with green on it near the tip of the nail make a thick green line, by staring on one side and going to the other, by just pushing the brush up and down a little to make a line. Then take that same brush with white paint on it and right under the green do the same thing, just make this line thinner for the snow on the tree.

Repeat this step three more times, each time you go up the tree make the green and white part shorter, until you get to the top then make a small triangle.

   Christmas Nail Design

Next we need to add some ornaments to our tree, this is done simply with some glitter. I took a small amount on my nail mat and with a toothpick placed the glitters pieces on a few parts of the trees. For the star I have a polish that has stars in it, I just fished out one star out of the polish and just placed it on top of the tree.

Christmas Nail Design, Rudolph
  Christmas Nail Design, Rudolph

Once you have your trees the way you like we will finish up this design with Rudolph the red nose reindeer. With thin liner brush with peach paint on it (yes I did get a peach and a brown paint, ever time I would try and make a brown color it would always turn out to dark, so I thought it would be easier to just buy a brown paint.) make a circle and fill that in, it can be kind a sheer at first.

Then for his mouth make a oval near the bottom of the circle, you may need go over this a few time to be opaque. For the rest of the circle fill that in a few time with brown paint, then  make two triangles at the top for his ears. Then for his antlers make two long lines with two small lines at the top.

Now on to his face, with your very small brush make to curved lines for his eyes, for his noes make a large red circle and then for his mouth make to upside down curved lines.

This is optional and I felt made Rudolph look better, you can outline him with black paint. This part is kind of hard, that why I suggested it as optional.

Christmas Nail Design, Rudolph and Christmas Trees    Christmas Nail Design, Rudolph and Christmas Trees

Once Rudolph is already to help out Santa, you can apply a top coat to help your nails to last until Christmas, or at lest a week (that's about how long my polish last for me.)

Hope all of you enjoyed this Christmas nail design, I do plan on doing another Christmas nail design using The Grinch China Glaze polishes for next week.

See you next time for more nail fun!

Also hope all of you are have a wonderful start to the holiday season!

China Glaze The Grinch Collection- Holiday 2018

Hello everyone! It's that time of year again when all the glittery Christmas colored polishes come out, today we will be taking a look at the Holiday collection from China Glaze The Grinch collection. This collection is based on the new animated movie The Grinch, this collection has a lot of glitters, some traditional Christmas colors and a few polish colors that don't seem Christmas like, but still fit in with the theme.

China Glaze The Grinch Collection
China Glaze The Grinch Collection

This collection has eight polishes; with five glitters, and two shimmers and a iridescent polish. Their are no cremes in this collection, which I don't mind, my favorite finish of nail polish is Holographic, glitter and shimmer, so this collection is just what I like.

Also I did purcahse the mini set from Sally Beauty, these polishes are also available in full size and individual minis as well.

Lately China Glaze has just not been doing it for me, I have been disappointed with their recent polishes, I really have not liked their matte finish polishes and the holo polish applied and wore horrible for me. So let's see if this collection is any better.

*For this collection and most collection, I often will try and wear all of the polishes at once because I like to wear my polishes all week and it would take a long time to wear all of the polishes at once a do a review that way.*

China Glaze The Grinch Collection
China Glaze The Grinch Collection
China glaze- Grinch- Grinchworthy on the thumb nail

Let's start off with Grinchworthy, this is a bright green glittery polish, with a lighter green glitter base and some darker green glitter in it. This applied well in three coats for me.

China Glaze The Grinch Collection
China glaze- Grinch- Resting Grinch Face on the pinky nail

Next we have Resting Grinch Face, this is a rainbow/ holiday colored glitter topper, with a clear base and small and large red, green, blue, sliver, and gold glitters. For this polish  on it's own I applied three coats.
In the photo above I wore this on it own just to show it with out a base colored polish, But I did like this better over a polish color.

China Glaze The Grinch Collection
China glaze- Grinch- Resting Grinch Face over Grinchworthy

Here is Resting Grinch Face over Grinchworthy, I think it looks better over a polish as a topper then by it's self. The way I wore it in the photo above looks like a Christmas tree, which look really cool and pretty.

China Glaze The Grinch Collection
China glaze- Grinch- Ho! Ho! No on the index nail

Ho! Ho! No! is a bright red glitter polish with small gold and red glitters in it. This also applied well in two coats.

China Glaze The Grinch Collection
China glaze - Grinch- Who Wonder on the middle finger nail

Who Wonder is a bright pink shimmer polish, this one seemed a little out of place for a Holiday/ Christmas collection because it seems like a bright summer polish, but when it comes to a Grinch collection polish it seems to actually work. This polish applied well again in two coats.

China Glaze The Grinch Collection
China glaze- Grinch- You're a Mean One on the middle finger nail

You're a Mean One is a deep wine purple shimmer polish, this one also seem a little out of place for a Christmas/ Holiday polish, but once again seems to work for the Grinch theme. This polish applied smooth in two coats.

China Glaze The Grinch Collection
China glaze- Grinch- Deliciously Wicked on the index nail

Deliciously Wicked is a frosted light blue polish with small sliver and holographic glitters in it. This applied well for me in three coats.

China Glaze The Grinch Collection
China glaze- Grinch- Lukewarm Wishes

Lukewarm Wishes is a frosted sheer iridescent polish with a blue shift to it. This polish was very sheer, I applied three coats for the photo above and you can still see the nail line some. This is another polish that I did not like on it's own and I thought it looked better as a topper, I personally don't like these types of polishes on their own, the sheer, white polishes.

China Glaze The Grinch Collection

China glaze- Grinch- Lukewarm Wishes over Who Wonder on the index nail.

Here is Lukewarm Wishes over Who Wonder (the pink polish), I think it looks better this way then on it's own, in the photo I feel like you can see the blue shift more over the pink polish.

China Glaze The Grinch Collection
China glaze- Grinch- Merry Whatever on the ring finger nail

Lastly we have Merry Whatever this is a gold glitter polish with some small holo and gold glitter pieces in it. This applied well in three coats, it was a little bit sheer for me but it built up pretty easily.

In conclusion I did really like this collection the polishes applied very well and wore well too. Also they are all finishes that I really like. I am glad that this collection did not disappoint. Out of all of the polishes actually the green polish Grinchworthy was my favorite, and I really like it with the rainbow glitter polish Resting Grinch Face. My secound favorite was the frosted blue polish Deliciously Wicked.

Glittery Fall- Fall Tree Nail Design

Hello everyone! Today we have one more fall nail design, this design I felt like it would be a nice way to transition into winter. I have stated in other blog that I don't care for fall nail designs or fall polish colors, so for this design the leaves will be glittery and not like normal fall designs. As all of my nail designs I get inspiration from Pinterest and make it my own, I saw a glitter fall nail design like this one and thought that was a cool way of doing a fall design without the boring colors, like browns and neutrals.

Fall Tree Nail Design
Fall Tree Nail Design

Here are the polishes and nail art tools used to make this glittery fall nail design:

Base and top coat- CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Polishes- Julep- Hazel- Boho glam, Revlon- Gold Coin, Fun Lacquer- Million Dollar Dream, Color Club- Mini- Silver Glitter, Color Club- Mini- Green glitter, and Cover Girl- Boundless color- Disco dazzle.

Nail art tools- thin detail brush and a thin stripper brush.

Small glass jar with acetone in it to clean off nail art brushes.

Fall Tree Nail Design   Fall Tree Nail Design    Fall Tree Nail Design

Start off with a thin layer of base coat to protect your nails and to help your design to last, then let that dry.

Then polish all of you nails with a shimmery purple polish, once again let that dry.

Fall Tree Nail Design
Fall Tree Nail Design
Fall Tree Nail Design

Now on to the design, for this design you can put the trees on all of your nails or just a few of the nails, for the photos above I put the tree design on all of the nails.

First we will start off with the tree trunk, take a thin stripper brush with gold polish on it and make two curved lines on each side of the nail to make the shape of the tree trunk, then in the middle of those lines start to make some random lines going different directions for the branches, also on the tree trunk make sure to fill that in with gold polish as well.

Once you have finished that part take a few different glitter polishes (I used a gold, sliver and green) and kind of blob them on to the nail on the tree branches. I used a nail art brush to blob the leaves on, you can also just use the brush that is in the bottle.

Then once you have your fall glittery trees the way you like apply a top coat to seal in your nail design and to help it to last.

Want an even simpler design? You can just put the tree designs on a few nails, on my other hand I only did the design on my thumb and ring finger and then the other nails I used a purple holographic glitter from Zoya called Finley.

Hope all of you enjoyed this very simple fall to winter nail design and I hope all of you enjoyed the fall and have a nice winter and try to stay warm as well, unless you are luck and live a warm place.

See you next time for more nail fun!

Pumpkin Everything- Pumpkin Nail Design

Hello everyone! For today I don't know if I am a little bit late for this design, but I thought it would still be fun to create a pumpkin nail design, it is still technically fall even though it feels like winter outside.

Pumpkin Nail Design
Pumpkin Nail Design

Here are the nail polishes and nail tools that you will need to create this pumpkin design:

Base and top coat- CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat. (The same top an base that I always use.)

Polishes- OPI Lisbon- Now Museum Now You Don't and Zoya- Urban Grunge- Troy.

Acrylic paint- black, red, and yellow (red and yellow to make orange)

Nail art brushes- thin linear brush and a thin stripper brush.

Small glass jar with acetone in it to clean off your nail art brushes.

It's pumpkin everything season, or is it, or maybe I missed out?

Pumpkin Nail Design
 Pumpkin Nail Design

As always start off on a nice clean nails with no polish on them and apply a thin layer of base coat to protect your nails.

Let that dry.

Once your base coat has dried, polish your thumb, middle and ring finger nails a gunmetal grey (I used Zoya- Troy), then polish your index and pinky nail a red orange color (I used
OPI- Now Museum Now You Don't.)

For this design I decided to go with more darker colors for the background/ base colors, well the gunmetal polish color, and a fall red orange, that was weirdly in the OPI summer collection even though I feel like that color was a fall color.

Let that dry.

Pumpkin Nail Design
Pumpkin Nail Design

Now on to the nail art, we will be making pumpkins on the thumb, index and ring finger nails (all of the nails that we polish with the gunmetal colored polish.)

For the pumpkins on the middle and index nail we will just be making one pumpkin. Take your linear brush dipped into orange paint and make a large oval shape for the pumpkins (I made one near the tip of the nail and the other more in the middle of the nail), then fill in the oval shape with orange, I ended up having to go over the pumpkin shape three times to be opaque.

Once that is dry take your stripping brush with black paint on it and careful outline the oval shape of the pumpkin and then make four large curved lines for the ring finger nail pumpkin. For the middle finger nail pumpkin make three small curved lines at the top and then four small curved lines at the bottom.

Now on the the vines and steam, take your thin linear brush with green paint on it and make a steam on the top of the pumpkin. Then with that same stripper brush with green paint on it, make some curved going from the top of the pumpkin and some on the pumpkin.

Pumpkin Nail Design    Pumpkin Nail Design

For the thumb nail we will be make two pumpkins, you can just repeat the same steps as the other nails just over lap the two pumpkins, the pumpkin in the back will be kind of hiding behind the other pumpkin.

Pumpkin Nail Design
 Pumpkin Nail Design

Once your pumpkin nails are just right apply a top coat to seal in your design and help it to last.

What is your favorite pumpkin item or do you not get why fall is always pumpkin everything? My favorite pumpkin item is pumpkin pie, loaded with whip cream.

Hope you enjoined this pumpkin nail design!

See you next time for more nail fun!
