Home Decor inspired nail design
I took one of the pillows from our bed spread, that we got from Target and used that as inspiration for this weeks nail design.
Here are the nail polishes and tools used for this dot home decor nail design:
Top coat and base coat - Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat and Nicole OPI- 3in1- base, top, & strengthener.
Nail Polishes- Sinful Color- Charge it up (This is actually a Magnetic polish, I just painted on the polish with out using the magnet), and Sally Hansen- xtreme wear- White on.
Dotting tools- I used three different dotting tools for this design a extra large, medium, and the other end of the dotting tool. These dotting tools are double ended, from large to small on one end and all the same size on the other end.
I just ordered these brushes and dotting tools from Amazon. For a super cheap price $3.87 with free shipping, they did come from Hong Kong so it took a while to get to the US, but they seem like really good brushes and dotting tools for the price. So far I have only used the dotting and they seem to be good. I'm excited to give all of these a try, they are a lot more smaller brushes then my current nail art brush kit, so hopefully they will work out better.
If you are inserted in buying this set here is the link to the brushes, or you can find similar set on Amazon as well.
15Pcs Nail Art Design Painting Drawing Brushes White + 5 X 2 Way Marbleizing Dotting Pen Tools Set.
The Skill level for this dot home decor design is:
This design has very few steps and for the most part is simple. The only thing is it that can be a little bit tedious making all the dots on the nail. But this design is still fun and simple to create.
Now let's begin this dot home decor nail design!
1. As always start off with a thin layer of base coat.
2. Then paint all of your nails a navy blue.
3. Once your navy blue base color has dried, take your extra large dotting tool dipped in white polish, starting in the middle of the nail and working your way to the sides make a row of dots going down the nail. It actually looks better with about three rows of dots.
4. Then once your white polish has dried take your medium dotting tool dipped in the same navy blue polish, and place a dot in the middle of the white.
Repeat these steps for all your nails, or you can do this design on one nail for just a accent nail. When I first stared this design on my left hand I did use the other end of the dotting tool for some of the nails, which ended up being to much dots on some of the nails. This design actually end up looking better with about three rows of dots.
