Happy Belated New Years- Purple & Gold Glitter Gradient

Hello everyone! Sorry that it has been a few weeks since I did a post, a lot of unexpected things have come up and I have not had a chance to sit down a do a nail toutial. Now I have a chance to do one. Anyways I hope everyone had a nice and safe New Year, and for today we will kind of be creating a belated New years nail design, a purple and gold glitter gradient, yes we will be creating this design in the middle of January, I thought this design was very pretty and really could be worn at anytime.

Purple and Gold Glitter Gradient

Here are the nail polishes and nail art tools used for this simple design:

Base and top coat- CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat

Nail polishes- Fun Lacquer- Million Dollar Dream and Zoya- Urban Grunge- Finley

Nail art tools- a makeup sponge

That's all you will need!

Let's start this pretty glitter gradient design that is great for any party or just for fun!

Start off by applying a thin layer of base coat to all of your nails, then let that dry.

Just like last year, this year will be filled with lot of holographic glitter polishes (gotta love the holo!) Once your base coat has dried polish all of your nails with a dark purple holo polish, or just a glitter purple polish.

Let that dry, then take a makeup sponge and polish a little bit of a gold glitter polish on to a makeup sponge, then dab that on the nails, focusing most of the glitter near the tip of the nails. You will need to repeat this step for each nail and you may also need to cut some of the sponge if the polish dries out.

I actually thought that I sponge a little to much glitter near the tips of the nails and if I was to do this again I would have not done a much, but I still feel like this turned out well.

Then with the brush that is in the polish, with very little on the brush polish some glitter more up the nail, so it looks like the gold glitter is almost fading into the purple.

Once you have your glitter gradient with the right amount of glitter, you can now apply a top coat to seal in your design and keep your nails nice and shinny, and to help them last through any party.

Their you go now you have a fun glitter nail design that is great for any party that you go to throughout the year, or even just for fun!

Sorry that I did not get a chance to post this in time for New Year, even though this is great design for New Years, I still though it would be nice to show all of you.

Hope you enjoyed this glitter gradient nail design!

See you next time for more nail fun!

Galaxy Far Away- Galaxy Nail Design

Hello everyone! Today I kind of wanted to recreate a design that I have done before, but change it up a little, that design is the galaxy design. I have been wanting to recreate this design on it's own for a while now, and I final got a chance to do it. I did a similar design like this one, it was a Star Wars design that had a galaxy design in it. For this design it will just be the galaxy no Star Wars, but if you would like to incorporate that in this design for the new movie you can do as well.

Also here is the link to my Star Wars Galaxy design May force be with you- Star Wars Nail Design

Here is the polishes and nail art tools used for this galaxy design, for this recreation I did use some different and some of the same polishes:

Base and Top coat- CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Nail Polishes- Sally Hansen- Hard as Nails- Black Heart, Zoya- Urban Grunge- Alicia (used on left hand), OPI Holiday 2017- Ornament to Be Together (used on right hand), Zoya- Dream, Zoya- Urban Grunge- Finley, and Cover Girl- Boundless color- Disco dazzle.

Acrylic paint- white

Nail art tools- Small dotting tool, very small detail brush, makeup sponge

Other- small cup or jar with water in it to clean of brushes

Let's start this out of this world nail design!

Galaxy Nail Design

Start off with a thin layer of base coat.

As soon as that is dry on all of your finger except your ring finger nail, polish your nails black, then the ring finger nail, polish that with a holo blue polish. On my right hand I polished the ring finger nail with a purple holo polish.

Once again let that dry, On our thumb, index, middle, and pinky finger nails we will be creating a galaxy. For this you will need a makeup sponge, I cut my sponge into small pieces for this step.

Take a silver holo polish for my left hand I used Zoya- Alicia and my right hand I used OPI- Ornament to Be Together. (This is optional because in the end you really can't tell the different.) Take one of these silver holo polishes, polish it on the sponge then in any random spots sponge on the polish. For example on the middle finger I sponge the silver in the middle and a little on the tip of my nail on the corner.

Next take another small piece of sponge polish that with the blue holo polish and sponge that on to one of the sides of the silver. For the purple do the same thing but on the other side of the silver.

For each nail it is best to sponge on the polish in a different spot, that way each nail looks different.

Once that has dried, take a glitter polish that has small and big glitter pieces and polish that on all of your galaxy nails. This will represent some stars.

For the final touch we will paint some stars on to the nails. Take your very small brush with white paint on it and make a few random X's on the nails, not to many, at most I did three to four little X's for stars. Then take a very small dotting tool and make some random dots as well, making sure not to make to many.

Once you have your galaxy design the way you liked, apply a top coat to all of your nails to help protect your nails and make your galaxy nice and shinny.

Hope all of you enjoyed this galaxy nail design!

Zoya Urban Grunge Fall Winter 2016

Hello everyone! Today on the M.M.M blog we will be reviewing some new polishes from Zoya, the Urban Grunge collection for Fall and Winter 2016. These polishes have been out for a while now, but I just recently decided to order them from Zoya.com. I have been eyeing these beauties for a while, due to the collection have holographic polish in them, that automatically garbed my attention.

This collection has Holographic and Metallic polishes in it along with cream polishes as well (which I did not purchase). When it comes to swatching polishes, I do it different then most bloggers. I like to wear my polish for a week, not just long enough to swatch and take a photo. So for the six polishes in the collection I put all of the colors on my nails, that way I can wear them all at once.

First we will start off with the holographic polishes, their are three holographic polishes in this collection. All of these holographic polishes are scattered holos.

Zoya Urban Grunge Holo's, Alicia
 Zoya Alicia

First let's start off with Alicia, this is a silver holo with a touch of gold in it. According to the website this is a linear holo, which I don't see, to me this looks like a scattered holo.
The polish had a smooth application that applied for me in three thin coats. This polish was kind of sheer, but in three coats built up nicely.

Link to Zoya.com if you would like to purchase:Zoya Alicia $10

Zoya Urban Grunge Holo's, Merida
 Zoya Merida

Merida is a dark green/ evergreen scattered holo, this polish is a great Christmas tree green. This also had a smooth application, that cover for me in three thin coats. This polish you can probably get away with two coats, but I thought I would do three to make sure it was opaque enough.

Zoya Urban Grunge Holo's, Finley
Zoya Finley

Finley is a deep/ dark purple scattered holo. Purple is one of my favorite colors (along with blue) so I was really excited about this polish. This polish once again had a smooth application (this is a running theme), that cover the nail in three thin coats, you could also probably get away with two with this polish as well.

Final thoughts on the Holographic polishes, as all of you may have guessed I love them! They are all so beautiful, applied really well, and just look amazing in sunlight. I would say my favorite would be Finley the purple, then Alicia the silver, Merida I really like a lot to which I was surprised, I don't usually care for green, but this polish looks amazing! For all of these polishes I would highly recommend purchasing these.
Next we have the metallic polishes from the collection.

Zoya Urban Grunge Metallic's, Ash
 Zoya Ash

Ash is described as a cherry red with gold metallic shimmer. The color of this polish seems to look different to me depending on the lighting, sometimes it looks red, sometime more of a burgundy. On the website and other people that have swatched this polish, it looks more red. So this polish is a little weird to me because of that. Ash applied smooth and covered in two thin coats.

Zoya Ash  $10

Zoya Urban Grunge Metallic, Troy
   Zoya Troy

Troy is described as a pewter with a touch of black and gold, with a foil finish. I would say this polish looks like a gunmetal gray with some sliver a black shimmer in it. Troy applied very smooth in two thin coats.

Zoya Troy $10

Zoya Urban Grunge Metallic, Britta
  Zoya Britta

Britta is described as a berry red and purple fuchsia. I would say this polish looks like berry purple or even burgundy too. In certain light Ash a Britta look like the same color polish or very close in color, at lest to me. This polish once again applied very smooth in two thin coats.

 Zoya Urban Grunge Metallic
   Zoya Urban Grunge Metallic Polishes

Final thought on the metallic polishes, I also really liked these as well. I would defiantly say that the holos in this collection where my favorite, but these where very beautiful as well. I did kind of have a hard time capture the metallic (the most) when I was trying to take photos, they wanted to be very reflective and kept on showing up blurry, but I think I final got the photos to look good. Hopefully I was able to show the true of these polishes.

As for the Urban Grange polish collection as a whole. I would highly recommend these polishes both the holos and the metallic are very beautiful and applied very well. As I have said other times that I have purchased Zoya polishes, I love all of their polish and will continue to purchase them, I would go for a Zoya polish over OPI any day.

These polishes would make a great gift for any polish lover (or your self) that love shimmer/ shinny polish, and who wouldn't?

Like all the polishes in the collection?
Here is a link to purchase all of the polishes, they are full size polishes

For some reason that you don't care for shimmer polishes here is a link to their creme polishes.

I know this collection is kind of pricey, Zoya also went up on their prices of polish I think over a year ago. But as always be on the look out for deal on their website, or sign up for their emails would be the best.

Hope all of you enjoyed this review of Zoya Urban Grange Holo and Metallic collection for Fall and Winter!

See you next time for more nail fun!
