Easter Egg Hunt- Easter Nail Design

Hello everyone! Happy Good Friday and Happy Easter! Today we will be creating a cute Easter egg hunt nail design, with a cute bunny in your Easter basket that want to protect or take all of your Easter eggs and candy, interpret that the way you would like.

 

Easter Nail Design

Here are the nail polishes and nail art tools used for this Easter bunny nail design: 

 

Base and Top coat - CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Nail polishes- Zoya Mini- Rayne, Zoya Mini- Leslie, Zoya Mini- Daisy, Zoya Mini- Lillian, Zoya Mini- Eden and  OPI Hawaii- That's Hula- rious.

Acrylic paint-  black, white, blue, red, green, and yellow. Some where used to make the color brown.   

Nail art brushes- thin stripper brush, thin detail and liner brushes.

Other- small cup of water to clean off nail art brushes.

Let's start this Easter egg hunt, or nail design! 

Easter Egg Nail Design

Start off with a thin layer of base coat on your nails.

Let that dry and then polish all of your nails with a shimmer light blue ( I used Zoya- Rayne.)

Let your base color dry and then we will start with the Easter eggs in the grass, that will be on all of the nails except the thumb nail, that is where are main design will be.

For the grass on all five nails, have three different shades of green; a dark green, medium and light green. On your stripper brush start off with any shade of green, and then near the tip of the nail make a lot of lines, that look like blades of grass, that fill up the tip of your nail. Switch between the three shades of green and overlap the colors, also their is no need to clean off your brush each time, it actually looks better if the colors start to kind of blend. 

For the Easter eggs I deiced to keep them very simple, for each egg color just take the brush that is in the polish and make a egg shape with that brush, their is no need for small details or designs on the eggs unless you want to. For the egg color I used a light blue, light purple, yellow, light green and pink, I just put which ever color I wanted for the eggs on the nails.

 

    Easter Nail Design 

The first part of this nail design that was the easy part, the design on the thumb is a little bit harder. 

Next we will make our Easter bunny in the basket, he is hiding so that's way we can only see his ears. First we will make his basket, take a thin detail brush with brown paint on it and make the bottom part of the basket and then make a curved line for the handle, you will need to go over this a few times to be opaque. If you would like once the basket has dried you can outline the basket with black paint and then add a few lines on the basket for a little more detail.

For the bunny ears, take a liner brush with some white paint on it and make two ears in the middle of the basket and then once that is dry, add two small pink lines to finish the ears.

For the Easter eggs do the same as the the other nails just place four eggs in the basket and then two eggs on each side of the basket.

Once you have your Easter nail design the way you like apply a top coat to help your nails last through all of Easter egg hunt.

Bunny Trail- Easter

Hello everyone! Happy Spring Time and Happy Easter! I don't know about all of you, but I am ready for the nice weather, even though this winter was not to bad, at lest where I live. Today we will be creating a cute Spring time/ Easter bunny nail design. 

 

Follow the Bunny Trail to some nice weather! Happy Easter! 

The nail polish and tools used for this design will be right next to the images as we go.

The skill level for this bunny nail design is:

 Beginners to Intermediate 

This design for the most part is simple with just glitter on two of the nails, and a simple dot flower. The only two nails that might be a little bit harder is the lager bunny and small bunny due to some of the small details. 

Let's follow our little bunny to some warm weather! 

 

Base Coat used- CND Stickey Base coat 

1. Start off with a thin layer of base coat to protect your nails.

 

 Polishes used- Zoya Spring 2015 colors and NYC Brownstone

2. Paint half of your thumb nail with a shimmery blue (Zoya Rayne) and make a curved shape for your bunny head with a brown polish. Then paint your index finger nail with a shimmery yellow (Zoya Daisy), your middle finger nail a cream pink (Zoya Eden), your ring finger nail a light cream blue (Zoya Lillian) and your pinky nail a shimmery purple (Zoya Leslie).

3. For the middle finger nail we will keep it simple with just some glitter on the middle finger nail, you can use a glitter that has a pink sheer base to it with some silver glitters in it. 

4. On your pinky nail that has the simmery purple polish we will once again add the same glitter polish on it. 

 Acrylic paint yellow, red, and blue mixed together to make brown, 

and Winstoina small detail brush.

5. Next we will create a small bunny on our ring finger. First we need to make mix yellow, red an blue paint together to make a brown color. It is much easier to paint small details like our little bunny with paint then polish, that is why we are using paint. Anyways first make a small circle for his head, then oval for his body, a small circle for his little tail, and one swipe of the brush in the back for one leg, then two swipes for two legs in the front.

 

6. Our bunny is missing his cute face, so we need to fix that. Take your small detail brush with some white acrylic paint, and make two small dot for the eyes, a small dot for the nose, then two small lines on the sides for the whiskers, for the ears just swipe one line on each ear. 

 

7. Now for our bunny's close up. On the thumb nail take the same brown polish that you used to make the bunny's face, take the brush in the polish and just swipe the brush from the top of the head to half way up the nail for the ears, do this two times for the ears.

 

 Sally Hansen- Hard as Nails- Black Heart, white acrylic paint, large dotting tool, 

thin liner brush. 

8. Our little bunny is kind of shy, so he will only be peaking out from the thumb nail. With your large dotting tool dipped into black polish make two dots in the middle of your bunny's face for the eyes. Then with white paint make a small oval near the tip of the nail for his nose, then on the side of the nose make two lines on each side for the whiskers, then swipe your brush on each side of the ears. Later we will be going over the white on the nose and ears with pink polish. 

 

9. On our index nail we will make a small flower with some dots on it. You can use whatever colors you would like, I used the shimmer and cream blue along with pink. Just take your large dotting tool with pink first, dot that in the center of the nail, then make dots around that dot you can mix and match the shimmer and cream colors for the petals. For a final touch you can dot some random dots on the nail, I put four around the flower. You can do more or less.

For some final touches on our Easter nail design, we need to add some pink to our large bunny on the thumb nail. Take your thin nail art brush with pink polish on it and go over the white part of the nose and ears. Then for our little bunny on the ring finger you can add some grass, with your small detail brush with green paint on it make some random lines for the grass. 

Once your cute Easter bunny design has dried apply a top coat to seal in your design and to protect your design from chipping. As always I used Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Want to change your bunny, you can make either a brown or white bunny or whatever color bunny you would like even a pink or purple bunny it is up to you. On my right hand I decided to make a white bunny to change up the design slightly.

Spring Delight- Zoya Spring 2015

Hello everyone! Now that it is officially Spring and the weather is starting to feel much more livelier, I felt like discussing a new, bright Spring nail polish collection from Zoya with all of you. Recently, Zoya came out with a new Spring collection for 2015, called the Delight collection. This collection is made up of bright pastels with three shimmers or metallic, (as described on the Zoya website) and three regular pastels.

On the Zoya website around Easter they had a deal for the minis in the Delight collection, buy five mini's for $20 with free shipping, or you can get faster shipping you would just have to pay a little more. As stated above their are six colors in the collection, but for this deal for some reason you could only get five for $20, which would have been nice if you could get the whole collection for the same amount.

So I decided to order these to give them a try for all of you.

The mini's came with a color chart brochure with all of Zoya's colors that you can buy. I think the recent brochure comes with every order that you make. 

  Delight book that the tray was in, Delight color swatch tray, 

and the tray flipped over to show the actual finish. 

This time when I ordered from Zoya, they gave me these acrylic trays with the swatches of all the colors from the collection. This is kind of a nice way to see all the colors from the collection and if you did not buy all them, you can see how they would actually look. Also, you do have to flip the tray over to see the actual finish.

and the tray flipped over to show the actual finish. 

Zoya also put this in the order as well, to show the new Naturel Satins collection.I did not purchases these colors.

Now to show the mini's that I got in the Delight collection.

 For the minis Zoya put the polishes in a cute colorful box. 

Staring from left to right:

Rayne is a shimmery light blue with green shimmer. Or as Zoya describes as a metallic blue with a turquoise flash. The formal on all of these colors was good. This polish was a little bit sheer though. 

Daisy is another shimmery color. This is a yellow with some green shimmer in it as well. Also described by Zoya as a yellow metallic with a turquoise flash. This polish was also a little bit sheer.

Leslie is another shimmer, a purple shimmer with yet again some green shimmer in it. This once again was a little sheer. 

Lillian is a cream blue or aquamarine. When I looked at this in the bottle it looked a little more greenish blue, then once I put it on the nail it looked more blue to me. This color was just a little bit streaky but easy to fix. 

Eden is another cream, a bright pink. This color was pretty good on coverage and opacity. 

Tiana is a light minty green cream. As for this polish I am unsure how it applies because I did not purchase this one.

Just a side note. I notice on my mini that on the box the name was correct Rayne, then on the bottle the name was miss spelled Payne. This was the only one that had this miss print on it. If any of you reading this blog that have purchased the minis, did any of you have a miss print on your polishes?

As for the Delight collection, this collection is very nice it had a nice range of shimmers and creams. As stated above the shimmers where a bit sheer but easy to fix. For the shimmers Rayne, Leslie, and Daisy due to them being a bit sheer I did have to apply three coats to be opaque. For the creams Lillian and Eden, Lillian was a bit streaky but easy to fix, due to it being streaky I did have to apply three coats. Eden applied pretty good with two coats to be opaque. I do always apply very thin layers of polish every time I paint my nails, so application could be a little bit different for everyone depending how you apply the polish.  

I would recommend the Delight mini collection. With the minis this is a great way to try a polish. The Zoya minis do give you a good amount of polish and the brush is easy to us.

The Zoya minis have 7.5ml/ 0.25fl.oz, the regular size 15ml/ 0.5fl.oz. which is a good amount for a mini. Just a comparison, OPI in their minis they give you 3.75ml- 1/8 fl oz, so I would say for the Zoya minis compared OPI you get more for your money.
