Snow Day, Snowed In- Snowflake Nail Design

Hello everyone! Sorry that it has been a while since I posted anything. Today we will be creating a design that is fitting for the weather, at lest where I live very snowy and cold. You may have guessed we are creating a snowflake nail design, using the two of the polishes from the Holo taco Frosted Metals collection.

Here are the polishes and nail art tools used to create this snowy nail design:

Base and top coat- CND Stickey Base Coat and CND Stickey Base Coat.

Polishes-  Holo Taco- Cold Shoulder- Metallic Foil Collection and Holo Taco- Gift Receipt- Metallic Foil Collection.

Acrylic paint- blue and white.

Nail art tools- small and medium dotting tools, and thin stripper brush.

Other- cup of water to clean off your nail art brush and dotting tools. Also not pictured a Q-tip/ cotton swab.

Apply base coat, then let that dry

Polish-

Thumb, middle, and pinky- a blue metallic polish (Holo Taco Cold Shoulder)

Index and ring finger- a silver metallic polish (Holo Taco Gift Receipt)

Let that dry as well.

Snowflake Nail Design       On the pinky nail make a white snowflake on the left side of the nail on the tip of the nail, and then some small dots with a dotting tool on the other side.

On the ring finger nail make a large blue snowflake right in the middle of the nail, then make small dots near each point of the snowflake.

Snowflake Nail Design

Snowflake Nail DesignOn the middle finger nail make half of a white snowflake on the upper corner of the nail near the cuticle. Then with a dotting tool make a large blue dot in the middle of the snowflake, and then some small dots on the tips of the snowflake.

Snowflake Nail Design
Lastly on the thumb nail make a mitten shape and using a Q-tip/ cotton swab with white paint on it dab the cotton swab at the bottom of your mitten shape for the fluffy part of your mitten. Also you can add three more or less snowflakes around your mitten as well.

Snowflake Nail Design

Once you have your winter snow day nail design just the way you want apply a top coat to seal in your design and help it to last thought your snow day, or as lest a week, if polish last good on your nails.

Hope all of you enjoined this snow day/ winter nail design and for all of you that live in a cold place stay warm, and for all of you that live in a warm area you are lucky!

See you next time for more nail fun!

Good Riddance 2020- Happy New Year 2021 Nail Design

Hello everyone! Happy New Year 2021! As well all know this past year has been a horrible year for everyone in more ways then one, and we all are hoping for a better year, the bar is low but will are still hoping. Honestly I feel like this past year has brought out the worst in people (not all but a lot) with the hording of the toilet paper, hand soap, sanitizer, clean products, mask, and gloves, this was completely not necessary and wrong in so many ways! Anyways sorry for that rant, on the blog today's nails we will be doing something very similar last year, I really wanted to do something a lot like last year with the Holo Taco polishes, so I did. 😁

So as you can see if you have been following this blog for a while, I decided to do basically the same thing I did last year, black nails with gold glitter gradient, and gold as an accent nail. This year I slightly changed it with my left hand having a silver nail. I just love dong this kind of design for new years, it just seems timeless and great for ever year.

Here are the polishes that I used for this years design:

Base polish- Black cream polish, Sally Hansen- Hard as Nails- Black Heart.

Glitter gradient-  Holo Taco- Gold Flakie- Anniversary

Accent nail/ ring finger nail- Silver for the right hand, Holo Taco- Gift Receipt- Metallic Foil Collection, and gold for the right hand , Zoya Ziv, over top Fun Lacquer- Million Dollar Dream.

Anyways with that being said for everyone that has made it though this year we all deserve a metal (in the collection boxes it says you deserve a metal) and what better metal then nail polish! Today yet again well will be taking a look at the latest collection from Holo Taco, the Frosted Metals or the Metallic Foil Collection.

As with all of the Holo Taco collection this collection came in a beautiful box, that has a metallic finish with purple, blue, and green squares on it. On the inside they is a very pretty holographic star pattern through out the inside and on the sides on the outside of the box as well. I personally really love the collection boxes they are always so pretty, and it adds a nice touch to the collections.

All of these polishes have a silver, flakey, icy metallic finish with jelly base (as described on the Holo Taco website) on the first coat they are sheer, but build well in three coats.

Let's take a look at the polishes!

Gift Receipt is a very almost mirror shine silver, with metallic flakes, that is so shiny and silver that is look like you have aluminum foil on your nails!

Wow this polish is so shiny! that even my hubby that never really notice my nails, was like your nails look really shinny!

Mint Money is a mint/ icy green polish with a shinny silver metallic glitter finish. For some reason in my photos this polish looks almost like a light blue?

Fake Date is a light pink / lilac (as described on the Holo Taco website) with a shiny silver metallic glitter. This polish was a little bit more sheer due to it being a lighter color, but it did still build up in three coats just like the other polishes

These polishes are a little hard to remove, so if you are a little bit messy when polishing your nails (like me) try and be careful not to get to much on the sides and near the cuticles, due to the polishes being very glittery. Also when you remove the polishes you will get silver, flaky, glitter all over your fingers.

In conclusion as all of the Holo Taco collections, I do really like this collection! All of the polishes are very pretty and very shinny, which I love shinny polishes and this collection is actually very unique to my ever going nail polish collection.

Here is some extra photos of all of the polishes on my right hand with a Holographic topcoat over top. The top coat I have on is one I got from Revoln a few years ago, I don't have the holo top coat from Holo Taco so I used the one I have. Adding a holo topcoat to these polishes does make these polishes look even cooler!

As of typing this post the collection box is still available. frosted metals collection set $65.00 USD

Along with the individual polishes Holo Taco polishes , $13.00 USD

Hope all of you enjoyed this review of the new Holo Taco Frosted Metals Collection!

See you next time for more nail fun!
