Unicorn Frap- Water Marble Nail Design

Hello everyone! This week on the M.M.M blog we will be creating a unicorn frap nail design, I am a little late on the whole unicorn frap craze that was around because of a certain coffee company. But I had been seeing some people creating a cool looking nail design inspired by this popular drink, so I figured why not give it a try anyways (I didn't get a chance to try the drink when it was out though.)

This nail design has been done a few different ways, but the best way that it seem to work out for me is by water marbling.

Here are the nail polishes and nail art tool used to create this mythical nail design.

Base and Top coat - CND Stickey Base Coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip top coat.

Nail polishes- Glam Polish Experiment 626- Stitch to the Rescue, OPI- La Paz-itively Hot, OPI- Hello Kitty- My Pal Joey, Julep- Hazel- Boho glam, Essie- Coconut Cove, and Color Club- Mini- Blue Purple glitter.

Nail art tools- a stylus or tool for marbling and a makeup sponge.

Other (Not show in the photo above)- two plastic cups with room temp water in it ( I recommend two cups just in case your water starts to get to messy), toothpicks (if you don't have the stylus, even if you do I recommend toothpicks!), tape to tape around your fingers, or Liquid Latex, and some paper tower this design is Messy!

Let's start this mythical unicorn water marble nail design!

First off start off with a thin layer of base coat to protect your nails and too help your polish last a little longer.

Then once your base coat has dried, polish your thumb, middle, and ring finger with a bright hot pink polish. We will only be doing the water marbling on those fingers, you can always do this design on all the nails, I just wanted to do the water marble on three finger nails.

If you want to only do the water marble on the three nails, you can polish your index and pinky with a bright blue with white, bright pink and holo glitter in it, I found that the polish from the Glam Polish Experiment 626 collection Stitch to the Rescue, went perfect with this design.

Once the bright pink polish has dried on your thumb, middle and ring finger nails we will start the water marbling. This process is messy so it is best to put tape around your finger, near the cuticles and the sides of the nail, or even better you can use liquid latex to put  around your finger for an easier cleanup. I still don't have any liquid latex, so I used tape.

Then take your bright pink polish (the same one you used for your base color), a purple and a blue polish and open all of the bottles, so you have them ready to go, you do need to work kind of fast for this design.

Take the bright pink and make sure the polish brush is loaded with polish, so you can drip the polish into the water. Do the same with the purple and blue, in the end you should have a bulls-eye design in your cup.

Then with your stylus or toothpick start to drag the toothpick in the water to create a marble design. Then quickly dip your finger into the part of the water that you like design.

Then take another toothpick and remove the rest of the polish around your finger. Then take your finger out of the water. Then remove the tape or liquid latex around your fingers, as you go on each finger that you are going to marble.

Once your marble design has dried we will add some whip cream on top or on the tip of the nails. Take a small piece of makeup sponge and polish some white polish on it, then dab the sponge onto the tip of the nail, kind of like a french manicure but it does not need to be perfect.

Then once that has dried we will add the sprinkles or sugar (not sure what is on top of the drink?) Just take a blue and purple glitter polish and polish that over the white polish.

Once your unicorn frap water marble nail design has dried apply a top coat to seal in your nail design.

Water marbling can be both easy and hard, the concept seem easy but some times your water marble still does not come out the way you want, it just takes practice, the right temperature for your water and the right nail polishes. Also here is a link to the first water marble that I did back in 2015 Lets try water marbling, where I show step by step photos. I definitely feel like this time around that the water marble turned out much better. Also their are a lot of YouTube videos out their on how to do water marbling as well.

Hope all of you enjoyed this unicorn frap, water marble nail design, even if you did or didn't care for the drink, I still think this design turned out pretty cool!

See you next time for more nail fun!

Glam Polish Experiment 626 Collection- Final Thoughts

Aloha everyone! A few weeks ago we finally finished reviewing the Glam Polish Experiment 626 collection! Today I will be going over my final thought on the whole collection. Just a little refresher, their where nine polishes based on the movie Lilo and Stitch in this collection, with a lot of bright colored polishes, that have holographic glitter in them

For this post this will just be my final thought on this collection as a whole, if you missed the review of each of the polishes, you can check them out after this post. I reviewed two polishes at a time, expect for Experiment 626 polish that one was reviewed on it's own.

I'm Sorry I bit you and pulled your hair...
I'm Sorry I bit you and pulled your hair...

I'm Sorry I bit you and pulled your hair... I did really like this polish, this was more on the light side of the the polishes that I normally gravitate to, but I really did like how this looked on the nails. All of the polishes do have holo glitter in them, which is an automatic plus and means I will like them, gotta love the holo! As stated in my review of these polishes this one did apply a little thick and was kind of dull, but that was not something that would turn me away from liking this polish, it really was no big deal and is easily fixed by top coat.

Hawaiian RollerCoaster Ride      Hawaiian Rollercoaster Ride

Hawaiian Rollercoaster Ride was one of my favorites, the color of this polish reminds of the many colors of the ocean and of course that holo glitter (that is a runny theme though this collection!) This polish applied very well and look really nice on the nails.

Lilo, You Lolo
Lilo, You Lolo

Lilo, You Lolo was a surprise for me I really didn't think I would really care for this one, but actually I would say this polish was my most favorite of the collection. This polish I would normally not gravity to, seeing a rose gold type colored polish in the store or on line, I probably would not purchase. But this polish OMG all that glitter and not colored glitters that you would normally think would go good together like bright pink, white, red, and holo in a rose gold base. I love super unique polishes I think that's why I ended up really like this one, and I feel like this polish is so unique that you can's find another poilsh like it, I maybe wrong who knows? I also fell like this polish really fits Lilo and her personality, it is very unique in color and the glitter combination, just like Lilo herself. Also even thought this polish was very glittery it applied so smooth which supersized me as well, but yes it was a pain to remove

Model Citizen
 Model Citizen

Model Citizen, now you know how I feel about neutral tones and grey polishes (blah), but once again this one surprised me. I did end up liking this it may be due to the fact that it is a blue tone grey. Blue is one of my favorite colors and the holo helped to make this polish not look boring. This polish formal was just like Sorry I bit you, it was a little thick and dull when applied to the nails, but once again was not a big deal.

Experiment 626
 Experiment 626

Experiment 626 the polish that the whole collection was named after and then this polish was named after as welln n w. This was the only linear holo polish in the whole collection. I have found that any linear holo polish no matter what brand applies like a dream, very smooth and amazing. This was no exception this actually applied in one coat, it is kind of rare to find a one coat wonder and when you do that is great! Although this polish applied in one coat I found out that is best to apply two coats of the polish because the next day their was some tip wear. Also I did like this one as well, I felt like the blue glitter that's in it helped to make this polish unique, compared to other pinkish red holo pol polishes.

No more Caffeine for You
        No More Caffeine for You

No More Caffeine for You, the name alone is funny, really all the polish names are great. At first I was not to sure about this polish, yes this polish is right up my alley being super bright, but at first I was not to sure about the bright green if it looked okay on my nails and I don't really care to wear green very much. The more and more I would look at this polish the more I liked it on my nails, of course I like how bright it is and how unique it looks, almost a slim green.

Evil Genius
Evil Genius

Evil Genius this one I had a feeling I would like because I like purple, and no surprise I did. This applied well and look really nice on the nails.

Nobody gets left behind or forgotten
Nobody gets left behind or forgotten

Nobody gets left behind or forgotten I love the name of this one, well the full message Ohana means family, family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten. This is my favorite message that is said though out the movie and a great message at that. This polish was also one of my favorites, it also reminds me of the ocean just like Hawaiian Rollercoaster ride, although it is a green it looked really nice on the nails and once again that holo glitter really helped to make this polish pop. This polish applied just like Sorry I bit You and Model Citizen was dull but not as thick.

Stitch to the Rescue
 Stitch to the Rescue

Stitch to the Rescue the moment I looked this polish just in the bottle I knew I would like it, and of course I did. I love blue polishes and this one is really cool and unique looking with bright pink, white, and holo glitter, the blue base also gives the white glitter more of a light blue feel to it. This polish had the thinnest formal, it took three coat to be opaque, but that was okay some of my most favorite polishes take three coats to fully opaque. This polish did apply really good and smooth as well.

Glam Polish Experiment 626 collection

Glam Polish Experiment 626 Collection

In conclusion no surprise here I loved this collection! This collection was full of bright beautiful colors, which I love. I felt like Glam Polish did a great representation of the movie Lilo and Stitch with their names of course and the colors of each polish fit very well. The formula was good a few where a little thick, but Glam Polish is an Indie brand polish company where the polishes are hand mixed, so that maybe why some where a little think, but they where not unbearably thick to where it was a pain to apply.

My most favorite was Lilo, you Lolo, then Stitch to the Rescue, my third was a tie between Hawaiian Rollercoaster ride and Nobody gets left behind or forgotten. I of course really did like the other polishes as well, those where just my most favorite of the collection.

This collection as a whole, with all nine polishes is pricey. I know I am getting a little expensive with all of you on the polishes that I have been buying lately, but you know I still love my try and true Drugstore brand polishes, that only cost a dollar to five dollars. I just feel like these are unique enough to pay a little extra.

If you are interested in buying this collection or just a few of the polishes, here is two links to where you can purchase them.

$11.27 each USD, $101.43 for the collection

$11.50 each USD, $103.50 for the collection

Also I don't know why I forgot to tell all of you this, but this collection is Limited Edition and so far Sorry I bit you and Model Citizen are sold out on Harlow & Co's website and I am unsure if they will get anymore in stock, but Glam Polishes website still has the whole collection available.

Glam Polish is a Indie brand polish company that is based out of Australia, they hand mix all of their polishes, in small batches. These polishes can only be purchased online, unless maybe you live Australia then they maybe easier to find, I am unsure.

Hope all of you enjoyed this Experiment 626 collection as much as I did and maybe even think about purchasing some of these polishes yourself, or why not save your penny's and buy all nine polishes.

If you missed the review of each of these polishes don't forget to check out all five post, I did the review a little different so make sure to check out each review!

See you next time for more nail fun!
