Super Mario Nail Design

Hello everyone! Today on the blog we will be crating a Super Mario Galaxy nail design to celebrate the opening of the new movie. I have seen the new movie last week when it had just started, I liked the movie and thought it was very cute and I thought what would be better then to create a Mario nail design and I wanted to create a little more challenging design, it has been a little while since I created a little bit more challenging design. 

Here are the polishes and nail art tools used to create this Mario nail design: 

Base and top coat- CND Super Shiney Top Coat and CND Stickey Base Coat.

Polishes- OPI Hawaii- Do you take Lei away, Zoya- Renee- Redbook trio, Sinful Colors- HD Nails, Sally Hansen- Hard As Nails- Hard to get, Sally Hansen- Triple Shine- Lemon Shark, and Nicole by OPI- That's Just Plain Nuts!

Acrylic paint- Black, white, blue (mix white and blue, to make a light blue), red, yellow and brown.

Nail art brushes- Thin striper, detail, and linear brushes, and a small dotting tool.

Other- Water to clean off your nail art brushes.

Apply a base coat to clean dry nails, then let that dry. 

Polish- 

Thumb and middle finger nails- a peach, skin tone color (OPI Do you take lei away?)

Index nail- a green polish (Sinful Color- HD Nails)

Ring finger nail- a brown cream polish (Nicole by OPI- That's just plain nuts)

Pinky finger nail- a yellow cream polish (Sally Hansen- Lemon Shark)

Let that dry. 

The Star on the Ring Finger Nail- 

First we will start off with the star on the ring finger nail, we will make an outline first of the star, this is so the yellow will show over the brown. Take a linear brush with white paint on it, in the middle of the nail make a star shape, buy first making a triangle near the cuticle, then make to more triangle shapes on the sides, lastly make to triangle shapes under the last two you just made, fill this in with white. 

Once the white has dried fill in the white with yellow. For The eyes make to small oval with black paint. 

For the bricks wall on the nail, just make three line across the nails, then make small line near the cuticle, making sure that the lines do not line up, then make some more lines on the next row, repeat down the nail. 

Question Mark Block on the Pinky Finger Nail- 

On the pink finger nail we will be making the question mark block that Mario jumps on, take a linear brush with white paint on it and make the question mark symbol, by first making a small square near the tip of the nail, then a small line going up the nail, a curved line, a short line going up, another curved and then a small line going down that line. 

Lastly make small brown circles on each corner with a doting tool.

Toad on the Middle Finger Nail- 

On the middle finger we will make the cute Toad. First we will make the curved line for his mushroom head, by taking a thin striper brush with red paint on it and make a curved line half way up the nail near the tip of the nail, then the top part of the nail all the way up to the cuticle fill that in with white polish. Let that dry.

Next is the red circle on his mushroom head. Take a detail brush with red paint on it and make two half circles near the sides of the nail and then a small circle in the middle of the nail, fill that in a few times to be opaque.

Lastly the final touch his eyes, make to black ovals and fill that in, then make two small dots in the ovals for his pupils.

 

Yoshi on the index Nail- 

For Yoshi we will start with his noes, take thin striper brush with black paint on it and in the middle of the nail make a curved line, in the middle of the curve we make two small ovals for the nostrils. 

For his eye make two ovals with white paint for his eyes above his nose, then once that has dried make two small black ovals in the larger white ovals, for a final touch out line the white ovals. 

Mario on the Thumb Nail- 

On the thumb nail we will make Mario. First we will make his hat, take a thin striper brush with red paint on it and make a curved line half way down the nail near the tip of the nail, then fill in the top part of the nail near the tip with red polish. Let that dry. 

For his facial features, we wills start off with his noses, make a large oval in the middle of his face. 

For his eye make two large white ovals on the top of the nose, then take a light blue and once the white has dried make two small ovals for the colored part of his eyes, then once that has dried make two small black ovals for his pupils. 

Next make is smile by taking a thin striper brush with black paint on it and make a curved line under his nose. For his mustache take a detail brush with black paint on it on both sides of his nose make a curved line, then another line going down from that line and two more curved lines on each side that will meet in the middle, then fill in this area for his mustache, hopefully that makes sense, it is kind of hard to explain how to make his mustache.

Lastly for his facial features we need to make his eyebrows, take linear brush with black paint on it and make to kind of thick curved lines above his eyes. 

Now for the final touches on his hat, take a thin striper brush with black paint on it and outline the curved line, then make a small curved line for the brim of the hat. In the middle of his hat make a small white oval, fill that in, once it has dried make a small red M in the middle of the circle. 

Once you are happy with your Mario nails, apply a top coat top to add a shine and to seal in your nails so they last through all of your game play and see the new Mario movie.
