Sunset Gradient-

For all of the nails we will be creating a sunset or sunrise nail gradient, First if you have liquid latex you can apply it before we start to make clean up easy.

For the gradient part take a makeup sponge and first polish your pink with a golden shift (Finger paints- Legendary Lore) the same polish as your base color, then a shimmer orange (Orly- Melting Point- Erupt To No Good), lastly a yellow polish.(Orly-Melting Point-Cesium The Day) Also make sure the polishes slightly over lapping.

Then dab the sponge on to each nail, you will need to repeat the last step for each nail, also you will need to go over the nails at least three times to be opaque.

Once you have finished your gradient peel off your liquid latex with some tweezers.

Then apply a topcoat to smooth and blend your gradient together.

Palm Tree on the Middle and Ring Finger Nails-

On the middle finger nail make a palm tree on the left side of the nail. On the ring finger nail make a palm tree on the right side of the nail.

For the sand take a sponge and polish a little bit of the sponge with a glittery gold (Zoya- Ziv) and dab that on the tip of the nails for a golden sand look.

Palm Trees on the Thumb Nail-

On the thumb nail make two palm trees on the right and one on the left side of the nail, make one palm tree taller than the other as well.

On Island Time- Tropical Nail Design

Hello/ Aloha everyone! Now over a month (July) ago my husband and I went to Hawaii to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary, and the thing that like to always say in Hawaii is Hawaiian time and or island time, which means you will get there when you get there and just take your time and enjoy life. Going to Hawaii really does teach you to just relax and enjoy taking your time. So for today's design we will be creating a palm tree, by the ocean, with a plumeria flower. For this design I really took my time and I feel like it really turned out good.

Tropical Nail Design

Here are the polishes and nail art tools used to create this tropical nail design:

Base and topcoat- CND Stickey Base Coat and CND Super Shiney Top Coat.

Polishes- ILNP- Under the Sea Collection- Sandbar Magnetic Polish, Orly- Melting Point- Having a Smeltdown, and China glaze- Shades of Paradise- Mer-Made For Bluer Waters.

Ocean Gradient:

For all of the nails we will be creating an ocean/ beach nail gradient, First if you have liquid latex you can apply it before we start to make clean up easy.

For the gradient part take a makeup sponge and first polish your light golden sand color, the same polish as your base color (ILMP-Sandbar), then your lighter blue (Orly- Having a Smeltdown), lastly your slightly lighter blue, this polish is just a little darker then your last polish (China Glaze- Shades of Paradise), also make sure the polishes slightly over lapping.

Then dab the sponge on to each nail, you will need to repeat the last step for each nail, also you will need to go over the nails at least three times to be opaque.

Once you have finished your gradient peel off your liquid latex with some tweezers.

Then apply a topcoat to smooth and blend your gradient together.

Tropical Nail Design

The thumb nail will just have the ocean/ beach gradient.

PalmTree and Plumeria Nail Design:

For this design once again I will not go into greater detail about how to create a palm tree because I have done so in many of my other tropical nail designs post.

Anyways for this design we will be creating the tropical design on our ring and middle finger nails. On the middle finger make a palm tree on the left side of the nail, staring with lighter colored green and then adding the darker green later for more depth. Also you can add a few small coconuts, by just making a few small dots in the tree.

Near the tip of the nail we make a small plumeria flower, take your small linear brush with with paint on it and make a petal, two on the sides and two on the bottom and fill in the flower with white, when that is dry take some yellow paint make some lines in the flower, then repeat with some brown paint in the yellow lines.

For your last detail on the middle finger nail we will make some grass, by make lines with our striper brush with light and dark green.

Tropical Nail Design

Next we will make another palm tree on the ring finger nail, just on the right hand side, then make some grass at the bottom of the palm tree, once again using light and dark greens.

Tropical Nail Design

Once took your time on your tropical design apply a topcoat to seal in your design and to help it last through your vacation.

Hope all of you enjoyed this nail design! As stated above when you really take your time on things I think they turn out really well.

Here is the practice version that also turned out very well!

See you next for more nail fun!

Ocean View- Tropical Nail Design

Hello everyone! Today on the blog we will be creating another tropical nail design. I especially wanted to create this design because my hubby and I are getting ready to go to Hawaii very soon for our 10 year anniversary. We got married on the Island of Oahu and 10 years later we are finally go back, and I am very excited! Anyways today we are creating an ocean view tropical nail design, unfortunately we will not be having an ocean view from are hotel, but that ok no one goes to Hawaii to stay in the hotel always, but it still would be nice to have.

Tropical Nail Design

Here are the polish and nail art tools used to create this tropical nail design:

Base and top coat- CND Stickey Base Coat and CND Super Shiney Top Coat.

Polish- Starrily- Northen Lights- Polar Lights- Magnetic, Starritly- Northen Lights- Oceanic Moonlight- Magnetic, Holo Taco- Toppers- Scattered, and Holo Taco- Toppers- Flakie.

Acyclic paint- black

Nail art tools- thin striper and linear brush.

Optional item- Liquid Latex to make clean up easier (Holo Taco Protective Peel)

Apply a top coat to clean dry nails, let that dry.

Polish on all of the nails, we will be using a lighter polish a light blue/ green shimmer polish (Starrily- Polar Lights.) It is best to start off with a light colored base and then use darker colors.

Tropical Nail Design

Tropical Nail Design

For this nail design I will not be doing step by step because I have created a lot of tropical designs that have palm trees and a gradient, so I feel like their is no need to repeat my self.

To help to make clean up easy you can put liquid latex (as long as you are not allergic) around your nails. Once it has dried we can start the gradient.

For the gradient part take a makeup sponge and first polish your dark blue (Starritly- Oceanic Moonlight) and then slightly over lapping the polish the same color you used as your base color the light blue/ green (Starrily- Polar Lights.)

Then dab the sponge on to each nail, you will need to repeat the last step for each nail, also you will need to go over the nails at least two times to be opaque.

Once you have finished your gradient peel off your liquid latex with some tweezers.

Also on the index and pink you can add some glitter to your ocean, by first polishing a scattered holo polish on the dark blue and a little bit on the light blue, then for even more glitter take a flakie holo and polish that on the dark blue part of the gradient.

Tropical Nail Design

Tropical Nail Design

On the middle and ring finger nail we will create a tropical scene on the middle nail make a small island or a half oval on the left side of the nail and then make a palm tree.

On the ring finger nail make another island or a half oval on the right side of the nail and then make another palm tree.

Tropical Nail Design

Tropical Nail Design

Lastly we will create another tropical scene on the thumb nail. Make a long thick line near the cuticle and two short lines from that thicker line going to the side of the nail. Then make a large plan tree and lastly make a few lines from the palm tree for grass.

Once your tropical nails are ready for your vacation, apply a top coat to add a shine and for your design to last through your island adventures.

Here is the practice version.

Hope all of you enjoyed this tropical ocean view nail design and hope that everyone is having a good start to the summer, it has been a hot one!

See you next time for more nail fun!

At The Beach- Ocean and Beach Nail Design

Hello everyone! Today on the blog we will be creating a beautiful ocean/ beach design. It's that time of year again when we all enjoy going to the beach and going swimming. At the beginning of the year I created a blue gradient nail design that I thought would make a pretty beach nail design, so that's what I did I took that same gradient that I did and made it into a beach/ ocean design.

Ocean and Beach Nail Design

Here is the nail polishes and nail art tools used to create this beautiful ocean/ beach nail design:

Base and top coat- CND Super Shiney Top Coat and CND Stickey Base Coat.

Polishes- KB Shimmer- Plant One On Me Collection- Lilac It Or Not, Zoya- Twinkling Collection- Jen, Holo Taco- Toppers- Flakie, Holo Taco- Toppers- Scattered, and Holo Taco-Vacation collection-Beach Please.

Acrylic paint- white.

Nail art brushes- thin striper brush and liner brush.

Other- makeup sponge for gradients, Holo Taco's liquid latex, and water to clean off your nail art brushes.

Ocean and Beach Nail Design

Apply a top coat to clean dry nails, and let that dry.

Let that dry.

Ocean Gradient:

Before we start the gradient part of this design, as long as you are not allergic to latex, you can apply a liquid latex barrier around all of your nails, and let that dry. This helps to make the clean up much more easier.

Then for creating a gradient from lightest on the tip of the nails to darkest near the cuticle, first take make up sponge and polish your lightest blue polish (I used KB Shimmer- Lilac It Or Not) then polish your darkest blue color (I used Zoya Jen). Then with your lightest color on the tip of the nails, dab the sponge on the nails to make a gradient.

You will need to do this step few time so your gradient will be opaque. I went over each nail twice.

For an added holo touch, take a Flakie Holo topper and polish on the darkest part of your gradient and then a Scattered Holo topper right under that, but not all the way down the nail on the lightest part just a little on the lightest part. (you will be able to see this better on the other colors I did on my right hand.)

Ocean and Beach Nail Design

Ocean and Beach Nail Design

Sand on the Beach:

To make this design look more like the ocean, we will need to add sand and waves in the water. First take a clean makeup sponge and a sand looking polish on a sponge (Holo Taco- Beach Please). Then dab that on just the tips of the nails, you will need to do they two time to be opaque, I also polishes on a layer a well to make sure it was opaque enough.

Ocean Waves:

For the ocean waves, take a thin striper brush with watered down white paint on it and make a few wavy line on the nails, do this one at a time While the line is still wet take a clean dry liner brush and brush the line upward to make a wavy. If the line you made dried you can all ways go over the line again to make the wave.

Once your beach nails are all ready apply a top coat to add a shine and to help them to last though your ocean/ beach vacation.

Here is the practice version.

Hope all of you enjoyed this ocean/ beach nail design!
