Holo Taco Birthstone Collection- January and February

Hello everyone! Today on the blog we will start to take a look at the newest collection from Holo Taco the Birthstone Collection. I will start this blog off by telling all of you that this collection as of typing this is unavailable for now sold out (it sold out the day of the launch), Cristine did say that she would restock some of the polishes too. This is one of Holo Taco's largest collections, there is 12 polishes in this collection and they are all based on all 12 birthstone of the year.

With every collection/ polish that I review I like to wear my polish for a week to enjoy it and I do this blog for fun, so for this collection I will wear two polishes at a time, one on my right and the other on my left, it will take a while to review only 2 at a time, but I want to enjoy these polishes.

Here are the polishes in their box/ carton. This collection did not come in a special collectors box unsure why Cristine/ Holo Taco decided not to, maybe because this collection was so big?

A closer look at the box.

Let's take a look the first two polishes; January and February.

For these two polishes I did use the Holo Taco base and top coat.

Holo Taco Birthstone Collection- Gosh Garnet- January

January we have Gosh Garnet is described as a burgundy,
bronzed- red polish with a shimmer shift. In the photo above and on my nails this polish looks brown with a red shift/ shimmer in it.

This polish took two coats to be opaque and had good formula.

As for looking like the birthstone, I always thought and even looked up this birthstone, that January was more of a red, and this polish is very brown looking with a red shift. This one I am a little confused why Holo taco chose this for January.

Holo Taco- Gosh Garnet $14.00USD (when in stock)

February is Crystal Mommy is described as amethyst inspired purple polish with crushed holo, and a micro pink shimmer.

This polish took three coats to be opaque and had a good formula as well.

This polish does resemble the February birthstone amethyst and is very pretty with the holo in it.

That is all for this week, next week we will take a look March and April. I will be including links to the polishes if/ when they become available and you like them you can purchase them you self.

See you next time for more nail polish fun!

Justin Timberlake- The Forget Tomorrow Nail Design

Hello everyone! Today on the blog we will be creating a nail design for the Justin Timberlake concert. I am a big Justin fan I have loved him since he was in Nsync and still continue to love him/ his music since he went solo. I created this design based on his albums and thought it would be great to have on my nails for the concert. I have seen him two times already in concert and was set to see him again October 25 for the third time. Unfortunately he got sick a few days before the concert and had to postpone the show until February 20. 😩 I am still going to go of course, I got really great seats on the floor this is the closest that I have been, so I am still excited but a little sad that he had to postpone because he is sick. 😕 Anyways I already did my nails and figured I would still share the design now.

Here are the polishes and nail art tools used to create this JT design:

Top and Base coat- CND Stickey Base Coat and CND Super Shiney Top Coat.

Polishes- Zoya- Twinkling- Jen, Holo Taco- Gift Receipt- Metallic Foil Collection, Sally Hansen- Hard as Nails- Hard to get, Sally Hansen- Hard as Nails- Black Heart, Finger paints- Tiffany Imposter, Sinful Colors- HD Nails, Orly- Cesium The Day- Melting Point, and Kiss nail art striper- Silver.

Acrylic- Black, white, green, and brown.

Nail art tools- medium dotting tool, thin stripping and liner brush.

Apply and base coat, then let that dry.

Polishes-

Thumb- shimmery blue

Index- silver

Middle- black cream

Ring- light blue

Pinky- yellow

Let that dry.

For this JT design we will be basing it off of his albums; Justified, FutureSex/ LoveSounds, 20/20 Experience (their was 2 albums), Man Of The Woods, Everything I Thought It Was.

Justin Timberlake Nail Design

1st Album Justified:

We will first start off with first album Justified, I made a heart with his initials on a blue background, this is what the CD looks like kind of, minus the heart, blue background and sliver for the letters.

For the design first take a striper brush with white paint on it, to make an outline. First make a long line on the middle of the nail for the JT then make an up case J and a lower case t. Then make a heart outline around JT.

Once you have the outline, then take a sliver stripper nail polish and go over that white outline.

2nd Album FutureSex/ LoveSounds:

For this design I based this design off the disco ball that Justin is kicking on the album cover.

For the disco ball this is the most simple nail. All you need to do is take a striper brush with black paint on it and make a checker board like pattern, two lines going vertical and three going horizontal.

3rd and 4th Album 20/20 Experience:

For this design this is based on his sound suite and tie and then I just pained 20/20 on the side for the album name.

For the suite take your striper brush with black paint on it and make a V shape near the tip of then nail, then with black polish fill in the area.

For the buttons take a medium size dotting tool and make three dots down the middle of the nail.

Lastly the bow tie, on the last dot that you made near the cuticle make two triangle like shapes on both sides and fill that in.

An optional part is the 20/ 20 on the left side of the nail, this is hard to do but I just wanted to challenge myself, it is not perfect and that is ok. For the 20/20 take a striper brush with white paint on it and paint 20/ and under that 20.

5th Album Man of the Woods:

This one I was literal with I just made a small forest/ woods with three pine trees for man of the woods.

This design we will just create three pine trees a full one and two half trees on the side. Take a small liner brush with green paint on it and make three arrow like shapes on top of each other. then repeat this step on the sides off the nails but only half a tree. Then for the tree stump take your liner brush with brown paint on it, and just make a thick line under your trees.

For the grass make a green French tip.

6th Album Everything I Thought It Was:

Justin last album to date Everything I Thought It Was, this one I based off of the inside of the CD and just the first letter of each part of the name.

For the last nail take a thin stripper brush and make the letters EITIW going side ways on the nail. This was another hard one to paint, it also didn't help that I did this on the smallest nail.

Once your nails are concert ready apply a top coat to seal in your nails and to help them last.

Here is the practice version

Due to the concert being postpone until February 😕 I have decided that I am going to recreate this design and change up a few things and see if I can improve on this design.

Hope all of enjoyed this Justin Timberlake design, if you are a big fan of him just like I am!

See you next time for more nail fun!

Fall in Paradise- Tropical Nail Design

Hello everyone! Hope everyone is having a nice fall so far. Today on the blog we will be creating one more tropical design, with a fall look to it with three fall like colors to give a fall in paradise look to the nails. I think this is the best way to spend your fall or any season if you can, in paradise, if you can't then this design is perfect for you if you are like me and dream of a tropical vacation year round/ all the time.

Tropical Nail Design

Here are the polishes and nail art tools used to create this fall in paradise nail look:

Base and top coat- CND Stickey Base Coat and CND Super Shiney Top Coat.

Polishes- Holo Taco- Orange Drink- Rainbow Collection, OPI Lisbon- Now Museum Now You Don't, Zoya- Ziv, and Sally Hansen- Hard as Nails- Black Heart.

Acrylic paint- Black

Nail art brushes- Thin detail and stripper brushes.

Other- Makeup sponge for gradients, Holo Taco liquid latex for easy clean up around the nails, a small cup of water to clean off your nail art brushes.

Tropical Nail Design

Apply a base coat to clean dry nails, then let that dry.

Polish-

Index and pinky nails- a brick red (OPI- Now Museum Now You Don't)

Thumb, middle and ring finger nails- Orange holographic, this is your base color for the gradient (Holo Taco- Orange Drink.)

Let that dry.

Sunset Gradient-

To start off and to make things easy to clean up, if you have a liquid latex apply that around the finger. (I used Holo Taco's)

For the sunset gradient we will be creating a gold, orange and red gradient for our fall inspired sunset. First take a makeup sponge and first polish a gold polish (Zoya- Ziv), then an orange holo the same color as your base polish color (Holo Taco- Orange Drink), and then a brick red, the same polish you used on the index and pinky nail (OPI- Now Museum Now You Don't). It is ok if the polishes overlap on the sponge, it is actually better if they do overlap, that way the gradient will blend better.

Then dab the sponge on the thumb, middle, and ring finger nails, you will need to do this a few time to be opaque, I did this three times.

Once your gradient is just right peel off your liquid latex, if you used one.

Lastly apply a top coat this helps the gradient to blend better. Let that dry.

Palm Tree Design:

First off on the thumb nail make a large palm tree in the middle of the nail.

For the middle and ring finger nail make two palm trees one on the left side that is tall, then one on the right side that is shorter.

Then on just the middle and ring finger we will make a small piece of land with black polish on the tip of the nails make a French tip like shape, it doesn't need to be perfect.

Tropical Nail Design

Once your nails are fall in paradise ready apply another top coat to all of the nails to seal in your design and to help last.
